...Stays in Vegas.

Bye, Vegas.

It's good to be home. Very good to be home.

I missed the girls terribly, although it was pretty amazing to not have to plan our days around naps and bedtimes and when we went out to eat? I got to just EAT. No feeding someone else first or rushing to cram everything in my mouth before someone wanted to get down or started to cry... that was definitely a luxury that I've missed. When we left the room all I had to do was grab my purse, no need to lug a diaper bag with a spare set of clothes for two, folding potty seat, goldfish crackers, cup of water, bottle, etc, etc, ETC.

Now it's back to real life. For some reason the house that needs cleaning, the clothes that need washing and the lawn that needs mowing are still here waiting for me. What's up with that?

It sounds like as soon as you got home you were thrust right back to reality - house cleaning, dirty laundry - not fun but at least you got to be you again in Vegas. What fun. That must have been great.
A no kids vacation. What joy that would bring me right about now.

The joys of going away, right? When you return, it's back to reality and it's as if you never left!!!

when i go somewhere without my kids, it's like i leave my heart wherever they are, but every other part of me tries to be in the moment and enjoy the bittersweet time away.

Isn't it funny how life works, when you leave you miss home. When you get home you want to leave, Lol!

Such a catch-22. When you're at home in the chaos, sometimes you just want to "get away." Then, as soon as you're "away," you want to go right back to that chaos - right back to those sweet faces and amazing mommy moments.

I'm glad that you were able to come to Vegas for vacation and relax. It's good that you do it once in a while. Leaving your family for a short period of time to relax doesn't mean you're a bad mother. It's good that you take time for yourself. Thank you for sharing this.
