One of the things my husband always talks about is his memories from growing up and going with his family every year to see the Harlem Globetrotters when they came to his town.

I'd like to say that I'm not jealous... but I am. I don't know if it was because the Globetrotters didn't come to our area (which is doubtful, considering they are visiting 200+ cities on this year's tour) or just because my parents weren't into them (in general, they're not sports fans), but to this day I have never seen more of the Harlem Globetrotters than has been shown on television commercials.

And those commercials look like so much fun! The music, the tricks, the dunking of the basketball, the spinning of the ball on their fingertip, the cheering and the laughter... no wonder the Globetrotters have played in more than 25,000 games for everyone from Presidents to Popes.

Everyone but me, though.

No, really. How do they do that?

It's time for my lifelong streak of not seeing the Harlem Globetrotters to end with the 2010 "Magical Memories" National Tour. Beginning on December 26th and running through May 2nd, the team will compete against their rivals, the Washington Generals, in 216 cities around the country and I am proud to say that my family is going to be there to cheer them on.

How excited is Big Sister E (okay, ME TOO) going to be when we get to go see the Globetrotters in person when they come visit our city? VERY. That's how excited. VERY, VERY EXCITED. If she gets to high-five a player that is more than twice her height? Even more so. And if I make a fool over myself trying to get close to The Amazing Race stars, Flight Time and Big Easy? Well, so be it.
