And, just in time for the season of all things scary ("Halloween is coming, Mama! Halloween!") Warner Bros. Animation has released its newest original movie, Scooby-Doo! Camp Scare today, September 14. Are you ready to be spooked?
The minute Big Sister E saw the DVD, she was begging to watch Scooby-Doo. From the look of the cover, I wondered if she might get a little scared from the creepy campfire ghost stories that were sure to be featured, but I thought we would give it a shot. How could I say no to this face?
As Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby-Doo are known for traveling in their Mystery Machine and solving cases involving ghosts, monsters or other supernatural forces, this DVD fits right in. The gang heads to visit Fred's favorite childhood summer camp, Camp Little Moose, and soon learn that creepy creatures from their favorite campfire stories have come to life, so what will they do to stop them?
In true Scooby-Doo style, there are plenty of high-jinks, chase scenes, musical numbers and comedic antics that take place while the group investigates the haunted woods and lake. In the end, Scooby-Doo! Camp Scare follows the heroic pals as they separate fact from fiction and work to figure out whether the camper's scary tales are real and if the kooky occurrences can be stopped before the camp is forced to close its doors forever.
I do think that portions of this DVD were a little too scary for Big Sister E and she may have been a little spooked. However, that doesn't mean that she didn't love it and ask to watch it over and over again. Considering I also had a good time (what a blast from the past!) following the storyline, animation and funny moments of Scooby and his friends, I'm sure we'll be pulling this out again whenever we're in need of a good fright.
Available now, Scooby-Doo! Camp Scare retails on the Warner Bros. website for $18.95 or slightly less on Amazon.
(Other than the Scooby-Doo! Camp Scare DVD that I was provided by Warner Bros. Entertainment, I was not compensated or enticed or to do this review in any way. This review is solely my honest opinion of this DVD and its contents.)

You have to love the cartoons from our childhood! I think my nieces would really enjoy this video. Their father is still into Scooby-Doo so they are too. I'll have to let them know about this video. :)
