Checking Our List #33: Cuisipro Batter Dispenser {Review & Giveaway}

Why is it that traditional breakfast foods are served... mainly for breakfast? Sometimes I wonder at what point it was decided that having eggs and pancakes was something that was deemed appropriate for the morning but gets an eyebrow-raise if they're served for dinner. Is there one person in history who is credited with deciding the fate of waffles and hash browns as a.m. foods?

I think I'd like to have a little talk with that someone.

Around here, we like to enjoy our breakfasts at any point during the day, because why not? And if there is ever a time that Big Sister E sees me pull out the griddle, her eyes get a little wide and her voice gets all hopeful, "Are you making pancakes??" As well as her excitement, another incentive for me is that pancakes are easier (and a lot more fun) to make with the Batter Dispenser from Cuisipro.

So what could be better than not having to deal with scooping a measuring cup into my pancake batter and then dripping it all over the counter? Or, something that bothers me equally as much, not having to attempt to get muffin batter into the individual cups without sloshing it all across the pan? When Cuisipro Batter Dispenser arrived, I couldn't wait to see how well it would work.

Glancing over the included instruction book while I took the pieces apart, I found that everything from the setup to the use to the cleanup for the Batter Dispenser was pretty simple.

Step 1: Pancake batter, of course!

With blueberries, yum. The Batter Dispenser works with various included ingredients such as small berries and the ever-popular chocolate chips.

Step 2: Turn the Dispenser upside down, remove the cap and pour your batter right into the see-through canister. The 2½-cup capacity is enough that you can make quite a few pancakes (it varies depending on the size) or fill a 6-cup muffin tin.

Step 3: Screw the bottom back on and select your desired size - small for silver dollar pancakes, medium for child-size and large for regular pancakes.

Then it's time to dispense! Squeeze the ergonomic handle and each time you'll receive an equal portion of batter right where you want it and the drip-resistant valve will keep you from having to clean up spills all across the kitchen.

As the batter decreases, the handy plunger in the inside lowers, keeping the pressure even and when you're done, simply disassemble the parts and they're ready to go right into the dishwasher for easy cleaning. And instead of spending your time washing dishes, you're left to eat your delicious pancakes!

Although I did find a few drips manage to leak out of my Batter Dispenser when I'm using it, particularly when I put it down to flip the pancakes, it hasn't been a problem to just set it on a plate and have them all caught there. But I sure don't miss digging into the bowl of batter to find my measuring cup scoop... only to get my fingers all gooey and sticky. This is a great solution for my pancakes and muffins!
