Letter Learning Educational Greeting Cards for Kids {Review & Giveaway}

Sometimes I wonder if my kids will know the meaning of the word cursive. Is it still taught in school? Is handwriting in general really focused on or do they just hand kids a keyboard in first grade and start teaching typing instead?

Even though writing letters and sending actual cards is starting to turn into a lost art, I fully intend to teach my kids the importance of sending them out as opposed to an email or text. Who doesn't like getting mail? Clearly we're big fans around here!

But oftentimes I do find myself standing next to the card display in the store quickly pulling one out, reading it, disliking it, stuffing it back and hurriedly moving on to another all with my kids impatiently waiting in the cart. Or waiting next to the cart... meaning that they're pulling down the cards at the same time I am.

Setting out the four cards that we received, I knew right away that Big Sister E was going to really enjoy them. Not only would she get to send out a cute card to her family and friends, but she would have the satisfaction of having written it herself!

Sure enough, as Big Sister E and I sat down and looked over the cards, she was brimming with excitement over getting to play such a big part in getting them ready. As working on correctly forming and writing her letters is something that we do at home as well as at her preschool, I showed her the dashed lines and she was ready to begin.

Even though we were excited about the Winter Wonderland Wishes card, we began with the Math - Preppy Poodle (Birthday) card because it combined both writing and math and allowed for coloring - this card has it all!

Moving along each letter, Big Sister E slowly traced the words Happy Birthday and looked up after each one with a big smile on her face. How often does a 4-year-old get to write out birthday cards on her own?

Plus, with the addition of the math practice on the front, we were able to work together to find the answer to addition and subtraction problems to determine which colors to use to decorate the front. Getting this one card customized and ready to go turned into an educational, entertaining good time all on its own!
