Nutrisystem {Week 2}

It's funny that it's only been two weeks into my Nutrisystem journey, yet I almost feel like my "old" way of eating was a lifetime ago. Did I really finish all that food off of my kids' plates all the time? Did I actually grab something to snack on any time I strolled through the kitchen and was bored? And the portions, the giant portions... oh geez, what was I thinking?

That's not to say that I'm a completely changed person in 14 days, because that's definitely not the case. However, Nutrisystem has just been so... easy. The support that I've received from them (as well as the rest of the wonderful Nutrisystem Nation of bloggers and other awesome people who have left comments) is so motivating and the food?

Well, YUM! I've tried diet food in the past and they usually taste... well, not so good. Nutrisystem is smaller portions than I am used to (since mine were WAY too large before), but they still manage to taste like real food.

This week, let me rave about breakfast a little bit - my favorite meal of the day. There are so many delicious options that it's actually hard to narrow it down to a favorite. I mean, everything from the Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal to the Chewy Chocolate Chip Granola Bar has been the perfect accompaniment to my fruit and coffee.

But... if I really have to pick my top two, they would have to be the Chocolate Chip Scone and the Double Chocolate Muffin (are you sensing a chocolate theme here?) because they're like having dessert for breakfast and who wouldn't like that? I know some people don't like sweets first thing in the morning, but I'm not one of those people. Just look!

Taking these out of the package and popping them into the microwave for a few seconds (or the toaster for the scone) and they're ready to eat almost immediately. Yum, yum, yum.

Or, for days that I want to pull something out of the freezer, Nutrisystem's French Toast also goes from the package to my plate in just about the same amount of time as my cup of coffee is brewed. And the taste? Also yum. Very yum.

Things have also been going better than I had expected with my kids understanding at all of our meals that oftentimes I'm eating something different than they are. If Little Sister B asks for some, Big Sister E will turn to her and say, "That's Mommy's special food," and that actually seems to be an okay answer for both of them.

However, that doesn't mean that I'm left out of family meals, not by any means. For instance, this weekend I made a big batch of blueberry pancakes for my husband and kids and then used the Nutrisystem Blueberry Flavored Pancake Mix to make my own.
And the description was right, they really are light and fluffy - not to mention filling!

So where have all these delicious breakfasts brought me? During my first week I actually took a peek at the scale multiple times during the week, so I had a general idea of what it would say when I stepped on for the official weigh-in. However, this week I stayed away and had no idea, so I was a little nervous. I was hoping for 2 pounds so that I could have a total of 5, but instead...

Starting weight: Too much
Week 1: -3 lbs
Week 2: -3 lbs

Total loss: 6 lbs

Even better - that's another 3 pounds that are gone by just having to eat delicious, healthy food! I'm so excited to continue on to week 3 and see where Nutrisystem can take me next!

If you're looking to make a change for the better in 2011 and would like to join me in eating while losing weight, don't hesitate to find out more about how Nutrisystem can work for you!

As a member of the Nutrisystem Nation Blogger Program, Nutrisystem is providing their food and program to me to review. However, all thoughts, opinions and results expressed are completely and honestly mine; your experience or feelings may differ.

I love the french toast! I spread cream cheese or laughing cow cheese on it when I'm missing my bagels!

YAY! You rock. It's amazing what happens when you actually do portion control your food. The weight starts coming off, making you feel really good about yourself. I still use 2 bowls I received from my fitness event that I measure out for my meals. Now if my family would follow along. Good for you I'm so proud of you my friend!

Congrats! How awesome to have a 3 lb surprise! I need to step away from the scale, too.

OMG I just tried apple cinammon oatmeal and am thinking WHY did it take me 9 weeks to try it? I'm sad I didn't try before I ordered for next month! lol

Stop by or email any time. The more support the better :O). Isn't the #NSNation the best?
