As I was reading the paper this past weekend, there were a few ads for Nutrisystem that caught my eye. They weren't anything flashy or over-the-top, they were simple and to the point: Nutrisystem works.
Select your food, receive tons of love and support, lose weight. Those are pretty easy steps to follow and that end result is one that a lot of people are after. So by taking advantage of all that Nutrisystem has to offer... I don't know about you, but anything else seems unnecessary.
This week it's time to talk about dinner. I've had people ask me if it's hard to cook food for my family but then not get to eat it (which is a good question) and, honestly, I thought it would be. And I could see how the answer might be yes... if I didn't enjoy what I was getting to eat from Nutrisystem. Instead, I turn to my pantry-ready or frozen selections and pull out something that I know will be delicious and usually ready to eat in less than a minute.
Two of my favorites from the cupboard? Pizzas. I love pizza and Nutrisystem has two that start off simple but make it easy to customize depending on what toppings are your favorite: the Italian Herb Flatbread Pizza and the Thick Crust Pizza.
By themselves, these pizzas have just enough herbs and spices in the cheese and tomato sauce that they hit the spot and don't at all make me feel like I'm eating "diet food." But if you're in the mood to add onions, peppers, olives, mushrooms or more, just go ahead and get creative! Lately I've been cutting up regular or cherry tomatoes and layering them under the cheese and love it.
Or, as Nutrisystem has more and more delicious frozen options available as a part of their menu, I can't not mention how awesome the Spinach and Cheese Stuffed Shells are.
Stuffed shells has been one of my all-time favorite foods ever since childhood but it wasn't until I got older and started making them myself that I truly appreciated how much time and effort my mom had to put in to making them. Now, thanks to Nutrisystem, I can pull these out of the freezer and have them ready in minutes and the taste is delicious!
So, after three weeks of yummy dinners like these, how did I do this week? From the start of the week I could feel my body hanging onto a little extra water (okay, a lot), so I wasn't holding out for much, if any, loss just because it wasn't something I was going to be able to control. Pretty annoying, but such is life, you know? Getting on the scale this morning, I realized I was actually holding my breath in hopes of not seeing a larger number than last week...
Whew! One pound gone is one pound gone, I can't complain about that! Looking at the overall picture, it's hard to believe that I've lost seven pound in three weeks and to say I'm thrilled about it would be an understatement. Next week will mark one month of my new lifestyle, so I'm looking forward to those results and thinking about the future and what is to come with the food and support of Nutrisystem!
