Ester-C and the 24/7 Mom Contest

There is no question in my mind that being a mom is the hardest job that I've ever had. No matter what I've done in the past, it doesn't compare to the ups and downs that motherhood has introduced me to in the 4+ years since Big Sister E was born and my life was forever changed.

But I think all moms would agree that we have some pretty demanding bosses. We cook for them, we clean for them, we dress, undress, change diapers, kiss boo-boos, chauffeur to a multitude of appointments and events... and are all-around always are there for our kids with sometimes not all that much praise. At an office job you might be promoted or given a raise for a job well-done... or at least recognized for your accomplishments.

As a mom? Well, you just have to hope that deep down your kids realize how much you love them and that you've done everything you know how in order to raise them right. And hopefully that you'll receive a nice card on Mother's Day. Because otherwise, you're pretty much just paid in hugs and smiles... which, actually, aren't all that bad sometimes...

Well, Ester-C thinks that there should be a little more done to celebrate all of the amazing things that moms do and, starting today, has launched a contest to pay tribute to all of the unsung mom-heroes in our lives.

Created to recognize the moms who can juggle the house, the kids, scheduling, working and so much more, this contest is all about the incredible mother, wife, sister, grandmother, aunt or best friend in your life and why they should be the official Ester-C 24/7 Mom.

Casting your "Mom-i-nation" is easy, you simply visit Ester-C and upload a video or essay explaining why your candidate is the right choice and all nominees will be posted for the public to vote on until April 13, 2011. What do the winners receive? Prizes designed to give a well-deserved break to hard-working moms!

The grand prize is a luxurious 7-day Mediterranean cruise, the first prize winner will receive 24 spa treatments and the second prize winner will receive 24 days of a house-cleaning service. They all sound pretty great to me! And, when you vote, you are also entered to win - one voter each day will be chosen at random to receive an Ester-C reusable shopping bag.
