Angelina Ballerina: Ballet Dreams DVD {Review & Giveaway}

I'm sure there must be some little girls out there that don't like to dance and twirl and daydream about being a ballerina...

But I haven't met them yet.

And there's no better way to tap into the love for ballet that little girls everywhere share than with Angelina Ballerina, Camembert Academy's shining star of dance, and her sparkling stories about dancing and performance, family, friendship and following her dreams.

Inspired by the award-winning children’s book series by author Katharine Holabird and illustrator Helen Craig, 8-year-old Angelina and her friends star in an animated series on PBS KIDS - the only current children's property focused on dance. But as well as the topic, this show does a great job of demonstrating the characters' imagination, determination, friendship, hard work and their ability to learn from their mistakes.

Anytime that my kids can enjoy sharing in Angelina's adventures and experiences and have liked the story, had fun dancing along, and even hopefully been a little more inspired to pursue their own big dreams... well, that's a winning combination for me.

Fortunately, as well as turning on the television, we can now also enjoy our favorite mouse friends on DVD with the release of Angelina Ballerina: Ballet Dreams from Lionsgate and HIT Entertainment.

With a running time of 61 minutes, this DVD includes five great episodes: Angelina's New Home, Angelina's New Ballet Teacher, Angelina En Pointe, Angelina's Ballet School, and Angelina and the New Music Store. As a fun bonus feature, there is also a Create Your Own Dream Routine game that kids are sure to really enjoy.

Angelina Ballerina: Ballet Dreams allows viewers to join Angelina as she finds her way in her new school, puts together her own show, and tries to land a leading role in the Mouskinov Ballet. Angelina continues to blossom as a young mouseling as she adjusts to her new teacher's style and learns the importance of being a patient big sister.
Whether you have a daughter, granddaughter, niece or just a great young friend, girls everywhere are going to want to pirouette along with everyone’s favorite ballerina in this entertaining DVD. Angelina proves again and again that she is clever and feisty and can ultimately persevere with her exuberance and this is something that I don't mind encouraging in my own children.

Because even if your dreams don't always go according to plan, there are positive lessons to be learned along the way, right? Even better - when Angelina makes a mistake, she's quick to apologize and try to make amends or if she makes a mess, she'll help clean it up. Now those are lessons that I want mentioned over and over, no matter if the character is wearing a tutu or not!
