Here in the Midwest, as soon as it begins to get the slightest bit warm people start to embrace the heat. The snow will have barely melted but when the temperatures stay above freezing for a few days in a row and the sun is shining, suddenly I'll see shorts and t-shirts everywhere I go.
I tend to wait until the weather gets a little nicer than that to put away my jeans and sweatshirts, but instead I pull out the flip flops and never look back.
I've been known to wear them when it's still too chilly for bare toes in the spring and continue wearing them long past when they should have gone into storage in the fall. And for years, they were those cheap, $2 flip flops found at the store that are a single thin piece of rubber and not much else.
My mom was the first person to introduce me to Crocs and told me that I should consider getting a pair because they would be more comfortable and better for my feet. I took one look at the footwear that she had on...
...and said there wasn't a chance that I'd wear anything resembling those.
Alas, my mom doesn't give up and it wasn't long before we found the Crocs Athens as a replacement for my cheap flip flops.
And, lo and behold, my mom was right. The Athens were amazingly comfortable, extremely versatile, and suddenly my feet didn't ache after a day of walking around.
I liked them so much that the following summer, I added the Crocs Capri to my collection and have since never worn another brand of flip flops again.
So it was safe to say that I was completely sold on Crocs sandals and how great they were... but then, suddenly, I felt like everywhere I looked they were coming out with new styles in just about every type of footwear.
One visit to their website and you'll still find the simple boat shoe that they started with... but you'll also find more than 120 other styles for men, women and children that are distinctly Crocs.
Deciding to branch out and treat my feet to something other than flip flops this Mother's Day, I was thrilled to have the chance to try out the Crocband Flat for women and see how well they compared to my past experiences and love for Crocs.
Right out of the box and I was immediately happy with the sporty yet casual design and the cute addition of the red elastic and matching racing stripe. As I picked them up for the first time, I noticed just how lightweight these shoes are and I could see that, as with all of their footwear, Crocs had crafted the Crocband Flats out of their Croslite material for maximum cushioning and durability.
All that was left was to see just how great they felt on my feet!
I love these shoes! The contoured, molded foot bed is soft and comfy, the Croslite construction has made them water-friendly and quick to dry (odor-resistant, too), and they are such a fun addition to any spring or summer outfit. I've tossed these on with shorts, jeans, and capris and have worn them all around town!
The Crocs website mentioned that this style of Flats runs a little large and I do agree that these are the tiniest bit loose, but I know that the next size down would have been too small. I am sure that in the heat this summer, these will be just right to help keep my feet cool and comfortable!
With Mother's Day just around the corner, Crocs has an amazing selection of shoes that would be perfect to pamper Mom's feet in style. Their footwear is available in just about every color imaginable and in a wide range of prices to fit your budget (the Crocband Flats retail for $34.99). This is one gift that is stylish as well as practical that she will get to enjoy for quite some time to come!
Crocs are available for purchase right off of their website or use their store locator to find a location near you. Don't forget to connect with Crocs on Facebook and Twitter as well, and to hear more about how great this footwear truly is, head over to A Mom's Balancing Act and see how much Jenna has been enjoying the Crocs Capri IV Flip Flops!
(Other than the Crocband Flats that I received from Crocs to facilitate my review, I was not provided with anything or enticed to do this review in any way. This review is solely my opinion of this company and their footwear.)
