When my husband and I first moved into our house years ago, the aspects of it that caught my eye the most were the standard features. Things like the number of bedrooms and the size of the kitchen and where the couch would go in the living room.

And when the Umbrella Rain Chain arrived, I knew it was going to be just right to add to the appearance and atmosphere of our yard.

Reaching an impressive 99" in length, this all-copper rain chain not only adds visual interest to our home but it also helps act as a downspout for all of the rain that we have been experiencing recently. The simple yet beautiful 4" wide umbrellas...

...are attached together with the chain and are easily hung up using the triangle-shaped brackets at the top.

With such an easy attachment, all that was left was for me to decide on the best location to hang the Umbrella Rain Chain so that it could be enjoyed as much as possible.

What a great addition to our home! When it isn't raining, this rain chain resembles a piece of artwork that draws your eye over to its rich copper color (which, according to WinterthurStore, will acquire a lovely, natural patina over time). And when it is raining, the umbrellas break the fall of the drops, which then run down each one due to the surface tension, making a soothing sound.

I find that the centuries-old Japanese system of a rain chain is a fascinating process in itself, but throw in the beauty of WinterthurStore's high quality craftsmanship and design and I think I could pull up a chair to watch and listen to this every time it even begins to drizzle!
