Celebrating Mom #1: Wind & Weather Shiatsu Massage Chair {Review & Giveaway}

At this point in my life, it can sometimes be hard to think of gifts that I would be interested in receiving for various holidays. I always find myself torn between practical things, like a new floor mat for the entryway, and more frivolous and fun things like a pedicure. Oh the decisions!

When it comes to Mother's Day, however, it's time to show Mom just how much she means and how much she is truly appreciated for all that she does throughout the year. And the perfect way to do just that is to give her a way to continually be pampered and doted on and relax from the mountain of stress that she is surely carrying.

All of which is now easy to do with the wonderful Shiatsu Massage Chair from Wind & Weather.
As we are already familiar with the efficiency, high quality and easy-to-use products that Wind & Weather offers (we still love and use the Weather Direct Basic daily and I'm nearly giddy with excitement over getting to hang out in the Chair Swing now that the weather is finally warming up), I had no doubt at all that the Shiatsu Massage Chair would meet, and probably exceed, my expectations.

Right out of the box and I could see that there was minimal setup required and that this would easily fit on a wide variety of chairs. Following the instructions, I started by using the provided wrench to remove a screw that had been holding the massaging rollers in place during transport...

...and then, using the strong and durable Velcro strap across the back and the stretching clasp across the bottom, attached the Shiatsu Massage Chair to my standard dining room chair and plugged it in.

With thick foam on the bottom, there is plenty of padding to keep my rear end comfortable and I appreciate the ability to leave or remove the flap covering the massage rollers - allowing each person the ability to control just how deep of a massage they receive.

All that was left to do was check out the simple controller (there are only five buttons: demo, full back, upper back, lower back, and power) and it was time to begin getting pampered.

In terms of the massage, this chair feels wonderful. The kneading motion as the rollers move up and down is soothing and I love feeling the tension from my sore back melt away as I relax. The ability to have this on just about any chair means that I can sit back and enjoy it while I'm watching television, working on the computer or even grabbing a bite to eat!

It actually took me a little while to notice that the Shiatsu Massage Chair even comes with an adaptor for your lighter, meaning I could position this right onto the passenger side of our car and enjoy a massage while my husband drives during our next road trip!

This chair also features an automatic shut-off after 15 minutes so I don't have to worry about overuse or somehow forgetting to turn it off... although for days when my muscles feel a little extra sore, it is easy to press the power button and my selection again and have a second run-through.

I would like it to have an option to pause the rollers in place, though. Because when they hit just that spot, it would be great to be able to hold them there to work on it a little bit longer. But other than that, it's great! The ease of use, the compact size and portability, and the high quality of the mechanisms as well as the foam and fabric makes this one gift that will definitely keep on giving for quite a while to come (when I'm not being forced to share it with my husband).
