Prior to having children, I was under the impression that the summer months stayed the same as the rest of the year in terms of schedules and being busy.

And then suddenly I have a preschooler who needs her own day planner to keep track of where she is supposed to be and when. Considering that we're going to be running from one place to the next quite often, I need to know that the rest of my life is being kept as simple as possible to reduce any stress.

That means bags packed, papers filed, and no wasting time with a car out of gas or a coffeemaker that takes 10 minutes to start working. I need quality, convenience, and no hassle from everything from my blender to my popcorn popper. Who has spare time to waste?

Easy to use, a cinch to clean up, and including the ability to brew into a cup or directly into a travel mug - as I pulled this coffeemaker out of the box I was ready to see if it was truly as simple as Hamilton Beach claimed.

In fact, it was.

I started by removing the dishwasher-safe brew basket and dropping in one of the included Senseo coffee pods underneath the divider. Had I been brewing up to 14 ounces of coffee or just liked my very strong, I could have added a second pod right on top of the divider also.

Popping that back into place, it only took another few moments to flip up the top and pour in the water. I appreciated the various "steps" right inside marking off 8 oz, 12 oz, and the maximum fill line, making it easy to see if I had added enough or needed more.

The last preparation step before turning on this coffeemaker is one that makes it very innovative: the built-in stand. Simply pull out and turn the bottom over to create a stand for a coffee mug or leave it all the way lowered if you are brewing your coffee directly into your travel mug. It couldn't be easier!

With the press of one Start button (which lights up to indicate that it is on), I soon had my fresh coffee brewing just for me - no waiting for anything to heat up or get ready, just press and go.

Due to the combination of being tired and multitasking, I really appreciate that the Stay or Go Coffeemaker automatically shuts off when the brew cycle is completed, as that is then one less thing for me to have to remember in the morning.

Instead, all I need to do is enjoy my coffee made in under three minutes!

Having never tried Senseo coffee before, I was really pleased with the Medium Roast that came with the coffeemaker. Best of all, as I had brewed just the one cup that I needed, I didn't have to worry about the rest of the pot getting cold or having to dump it out and clean it later on. By just tossing out the used pod, I was prepared for the next morning with no mess and no fuss.
