I am one of those people that continually has aspirations to be neat and organized. My problem is that I want it to happen in all areas of my life... I just don't want to have to do the work to get it (or keep it) that way.

So, as much as I want to have papers filed away and storage containers labeled and be able to find things instantly when I need them, it doesn't seem to happen.

For instance, my closet. I am one of those people that tries on a shirt, doesn't like the way it looks, and tosses it aside to try on another. I might dig through a pile of jeans to find the ones I want, leaving the rest in disarray. Or, thanks to my recent weight loss, now instead of having clothes that I just can't bear to get rid of because they're too small, I have ones that I really like... but they're too big.

It all leads to one corner of the closet looking like this:

In full honesty, it actually usually looks worse but I didn't figure the internet needed to see any of my undergarments hanging out everywhere.

That small, flimsy plastic 3-drawer chest isn't really all that helpful due to how little that it holds, so it turns into a dropping ground for me to just make a bigger mess. Clearly, I needed a better solution.

So, the next step was to start shopping online, particular from sites that are easy to navigate, have a huge selection and provide a great value. I didn't want to just settle for the first chest that I found and be done, I wanted to be able to browse multiple options and find the one that would fit our decor as well as the space. The obvious choice? It was time to shop at Hayneedle.

Arriving in one long box, Hayneedle wasn't kidding when they put Heavy Package stickers on the pieces to this lingerie chest. I could barely move it and ended up having to cut the cardboard off because I couldn't lift it to get the items out.

Although I was hesitant getting started with the assembly, I was pleased to find that the combination of the clear instructions and basic common sense made putting this chest together not all that difficult. It did take a little while due to the fact that I was doing it alone, as a second person would be able to speed up the process by putting together the drawers while the first person constructed the chest itself.

After an hour or so, I slid the final drawer into place and stepped back to see the new and much-improved way of keeping me organized.

Featuring seven roomy drawers, the tall profile and narrow dimensions of this chest (20" x 15" x 50.5") are perfect for the space in my closet but the sleek black finish and chrome-colored knobs would also look great out in the bedroom.

Each drawer is plenty large enough to hold small clothing items or accessories and I appreciate that there are built-in safety stops on each one so that I can't accidentally pull a drawer out too far and have it spill.

I also really like that the drawers are constructed out of durable laminated composite board, as it ensures that each one is sturdy and will last. However, as they utilize a nylon roller guide that runs in the wood groove on each side, I have found that some of them are harder to pull open than others.

As I have opened and closed the drawers more and more, it does seem as though they do continue to loosen up so I'm hoping that after a little while longer they will all be able to slide in and out smoothly.

All in all, the strong wood composite construction, easy-to-follow instructions, and high quality of this piece make it one that I really enjoy. It's exactly what I needed to get all of my miscellaneous clothing in order!
