Fun in the Sun #11: Safety 1st Complete Air 65 Convertible Car Seat {Review & Giveaway}

Driving home from swim lessons the other day, the girls and I came upon a car accident that had to have happened only minutes before that made my heart sink a little bit.

It appeared that a car had somehow misjudged that it was clear for them to turn left and had hit nearly straight-on into a car from the oncoming traffic. Sparking questions from Big Sister E about driving and being careful, in the back of my mind I kept glancing in my rearview mirror at both of my daughters feeling extremely grateful that we had taken those extra few minutes in the locker room so that we weren't around when the accident had occurred.

I was surprised at how light this car seat is when lifted (my husband later commented the same thing) and the level of softness of the cushions and padding. This doesn't feel like a hard piece of plastic, there is a very comfortable seat...

Without having to uninstall the Complete Air 65 from the car or break your arm reaching around it, you only have to slide the two top release levers to the side and the entire top portion moves up and down.

With a 5-position adjustable headrest, you are able to easily accommodate your child and find the perfect fit throughout the years of use you will get from this one convertible car seat.

With so many great features already, I was happy to see that Safety 1st didn't skip over things such as making the seat pad machine washable or including a removable cup holder. It's the small additions as well as the overall safety that really comes together to result in a great product!

All that was left was to see if the installation process was just as simple as using the rest of this car seat. However, before I even had a chance to wonder if I needed to study the manual, I found that Safety 1st had made things incredibly easy for me by having a variety of instructions and images along both sides of the seat itself that showed precisely what I needed to know.

Heading out to the car, it didn't take more than a minute or two to have the LATCH anchors located, the connector in place and the car seat tightly in place. Safety 1st even included a "Line to be level to ground" sticker so that it is easy to see if you have the seat in correctly in the rear-facing position or if it still needs adjustment.

Unbuckling the LATCH system and turning the Complete Air 65 around, installing it in the forward-facing position was just as simple. After flipping up the Recline Stand so that the seat would be level...

...it hardly took any time to have the connector threaded through the correct places (due to them being well-labeled) and have everything and everyone buckled safely into place.

When I asked the girls how they liked this car seat, Big Sister E was only too eager to talk about how comfortable it is and demonstrate that she was sure she could fall asleep in it, while Little Sister B was just excited about the possibility of having a drink within reach.
