Capture the Magic: Gemmy My Pet Firefly {Review & Giveaway}

Big Sister E attended a three-week camp at her preschool this summer and, just as I had suspected, she loved every minute of it.

Along with all of the play and activities that they did indoors and out, one of the aspects that she enjoyed telling me about each day was which of her classmates' Special Day it had been and, more importantly, what they had brought in for show-and-tell.

Therefore, when it came time for her to decide what item she wanted to bring in for her day, it was a major decision for her. After pondering each stuffed animal or toy, she just wasn't satisfied with any of them and I could see her starting to fret as it wasn't long before she had to head out the door.

As luck would have it, I had just the thing to show her that I knew she would be absolutely thrilled with: My Pet Firefly by Gemmy.

It truly took around half a second from the moment that Big Sister E saw the blue glow and flicker before her face lit up into a huge smile. The luminosity created an eye-catching light effect and the flickering and tapping really does look as though we've caught a live lightning bug from out in our yard (something she has a great time doing but then is also a little scared when it actually happens).

Having immediately decided that yes, this was the perfect item to bring in for show-and-tell, when I picked Big Sister E up that day she couldn't stop talking about how much her teachers and friends were amazed at My Pet Firefly. She proceeded to happily place the jar next to her bed (it makes a uniquely interactive nightlight) and both she and Little Sister B have found it just as incredible in the days that have followed.
