Jiffy Lube Streamlines Car Care with their New iPhone App {$35 Gift Card Giveaway}

I have to admit: I'm scared of my car.

Over the years I've been in a variety of auto-related situations that I would rather not relive... everything from being stranded when I drove into a snow bank in the middle of the freeway to flat tires that stopped me in my tracks to running out of gas and rolling slowly and pitifully over to the side of the road.

That last one may have happened more than once, but I never claimed I was a quick learner.

So although I love everything that my car can do for me and my family, I'm continually worried when I drive it that I will need to know the registration information, how to jump a dead battery or even just what my license plate number is in a pinch. Who can keep track of that stuff?

Fortunately, now there is a way to have it all right at your fingertips thanks to Jiffy Lube and their new Jiffy Lube iPhone App.

Already known for their efforts to make drivers' lives more convenient, Jiffy Lube's introduction of their iPhone application aims to raise the bar even higher... and it's FREE! With drivers' vital vehicle information easily accessible, great tips and tutorials, where to find the nearest Jiffy Lube location and more, this app takes out the worry and instead is your own automotive personal assistant.

Features include:

MyInfo: turns drivers into road warriors. Store photos of important vehicle documents such as registration, insurance card, VIN, license plate, and inspection information. Car tips are also provided as a quick, handy reference in the event of an emergency, such as jumpstarting a battery and an oil change tracker can help schedule reminders to keep you on track.

MyGarage: takes the guesswork out of preventive maintenance by providing tips and basic information based on vehicle manufacturer recommendations. This feature helps users stay in touch with their maintenance schedule and schedule their own reminders for important routine maintenance checks, such as tire pressure, coolant level and wiper blades. Each item on the list even comes with "how-to" instructions to walk you through each step.

Locator: is GPS-enabled to find any Jiffy Lube location, anywhere. Get directions, call the location directly, find out what services are offered at that location and even use a coupon for a Jiffy Lube Signature Service Oil Change... and then share the savings with your friends on Twitter and Facebook.

Jiffy Lube knows drivers are busy and that remembering license plate numbers or when it's time for vehicle maintenance isn't always at the forefront of their minds. With this new iPhone app, there is now a simple and convenient way for drivers to keep all of this essential information in one place and have it easily accessible (with additional resources) to improve the all around ownership experience.

After my introduction last year to the Keeping My Ride Alive Facebook community – a place for drivers who hope to achieve high-mileage on their vehicles to share stories, photos and tips – I had thought that Jiffy Lube had found a way to bring people together and make life easier when it comes to their cars.

However, with the release of this iPhone app (there are already plans to release an Android version), they've managed to help out seasoned road warriors all the way to new drivers... and give those of us who worry that they won't be able to tell a spark plug from a potato chip a reason to relax.
