Holiday Gift Guide: The Swiss Colony Chocolate Brownie Cake {Review & Giveaway}

When it comes to holiday shopping, there are some items that only work for specific people. After all, you can't exactly give a pink bathrobe and fuzzy slippers to Grandpa while junior probably won't be too thrilled with a gift certificate to the salon.

But there is one thing that the entire family can and will enjoy: tasty treats.

Who can resist a decadent dessert or fresh cheeses or pretty much anything with chocolate? Definitely not me. And especially if I know it is going to be scrumptiously melt-in-your-mouth deliciously flavorful, as everything is when it's from The Swiss Colony.

I also have no doubt that the salty-sweet combination found in the Chocolate-Covered Potato Chips would ensure that they would disappear immediately if they were given as a gift around here.

After marveling over all of the cakes, cookies, cupcakes and petit fours, when the Chocolate Brownie Cake arrived from The Swiss Colony, I knew that it wasn't going to have much chance of survival with my family's sweet tooth.

Even before I had the classic red tin open, I was admiring the great presentation and effort that The Swiss Colony puts in to making sure that their items are completely ready for gift-giving, whether you have it mailed directly to your recipient or to yourself first.

Opening up the lid for a peek, I could almost hear the chocolate chunks and pecans calling my name.

I lasted all of about 30 seconds before I had to have a taste.

As I suspected: YUM.

The chocolate of the brownie is rich and delicious and the chocolate chunks and pecans throughout only add even more enjoyable flavor... as I suspected, this Chocolate Brownie Cake was a big hit for all of us (I especially liked it after being heated in the microwave for a few seconds) and the nearly 1.5-pound tin of indulgent chocolate disappeared nearly as quickly as it had arrived.
