Chooka Fashion Rain Boots {Review & Giveaway}

Here in the Midwest we experience the whole spectrum of weather. From the boiling heat to the freezing cold, sometimes it seems like I never know what to expect when I open the front door.

Although we manage to deal with the hot temperatures outside by staying in the shade and combat the cold ones by layering on thick coats, when it comes to spring and fall, the rain, mud, slush and puddles are what get me the most. My kids have cute rain boots that keep their tootsies dry, but me? I throw on my tennis shoes and end up gritting my teeth when I feel the wetness seeping in on my feet.

Having talked to various other moms about our quest for rain boots, the conclusion seems to always be that we want something that demonstrates fashion meeting function. Of course we want them to keep our feet dry, but we also covet a little bit of the style that our kids have except in a more grown-up way. The answer? Chooka and their fashion rain boots.

Born from the idea that utility can be beautiful, Chooka began as a small, Seattle-based company. After the CEO decided to take a risk with the family company and introduce bright colors and polka dots... and then everything from tattoos to leopard prints, the rubber boots changed from a muddy trudging wellie to a blank canvas, capable of displaying tremendous works of art.

Now established as number one in fashion rain gear, Chooka's new and innovative silhouettes and fresh and young designs have managed to reinvent the rain boot every season. Knowing that this was exactly what I needed so that I wouldn't dread the puddles each year, when the Classy Classic Charcoal boots arrived, I pulled them out of the box and found myself anticipating the next rain!

Created out of 100% natural rubber and featuring a moisture absorbent cotton lining and removable insole, it didn't take long before I had these on and began to enjoy the comfort. Right away I found that they felt well-insulated and weren't too heavy to wear around. Instead of feeling like a child stomping around in adults' big, clunky boots, these are cut much more slim and fitted. I love them!

As well as the great interior, these boots feature a working buckle on the upper exterior that is both fashionable as well as functioning (to adjust the size of the 15½" circumference of the opening if necessary). I love this added touch that gives Chooka boots a little something extra to go along with their stylish designs.

On the other end of the boots, the heavy treaded rubber outsole is thick and durable and the approximate 1" heels are great for walking through anything from rain to mud to snow.

In the past I've had a pair of ankle-high rain boots (that ended up splitting and leaking), so the 12" shaft height of the Classy Classic Charcoal rain boots has proved to be so much better. There's no way that rain or snow is going to slip down into the bottom and make me grumpy!

I have been extremely impressed with my Chooka boots since they arrived and I really do love pulling them out on any and all occasions where there is a hint of wetness. My husband has teased me once or twice asking why I'm wearing rain boots if it isn't raining, but clearly he just doesn't understand how comfortable and stylish these are.

I'm happy knowing that I can pull these on quickly and easily and my feet and socks will stay nice and dry throughout any rain or snow this year, next spring and long into the future. Who doesn't want to be prepared for even the ugliest weather while staying fashionable?
