Typically when it comes to picking out new clothes for fall, winter and especially the holidays, all of us moms immediately think of our children. Do our daughters have dresses that haven't been outgrown? Do our sons have khakis that are long enough in length but not too loose in the waist?

It didn't take more than a glance or two at the Sweet Innocence Dresses before I was convinced that Diviine Modestee had hit upon the right combination of quality and design for women and teens. As I often browse dresses and think that they're cut too short or too revealing for my tastes (and body), I loved that this line instead makes it easy to get fashionably dressed in an item that is well-made, comfortable and beautiful all on its own.

When the Serena dress arrived, I knew that the deep ocean blue color and unique applique neckline would be perfect for any upcoming occasions this season as well as beyond.

From the picture on the Diviine Modestee website, I had already liked the cool, soothing color and the way the empire waistline of the Serena dress gave it a tailored, attractive look.

The description mentioned that the A-line skirt is slimming and that "this dress will flatter any body shape," two things that definitely caught my eye. What woman doesn't want a dress that helps them look as good as possible?

In fact, it's gorgeous! I took note that Diviine Modestee recommended to order one size smaller for a perfect fit and chose a Small instead of a Medium, and was glad that I did. The single zipper in the back closed perfectly and the lightweight Nylon/Rayon/Spandex fabric felt smooth and soft with just the right amount of stretch.

I love the details that are included in this dress, as the lined bodice and scoop neckline are the perfect simple accompaniments to the intricate flower applique.

The top is form-fitting without being too tight and the thick band at the waist brings your eye to the smallest part of the body, giving the illusion that someone like me has a tiny middle.

The darts on the skirt and the longer, over-the-knee length flow easily and give the Serena dress the ability to drape and flatter on the body, while not clinging to any areas that I would rather keep hidden.

Basically it all works together to make a dress that can be dressed up or down as well as worn for day or evening. With flats it is more casual, with heels and some jewelry, it is more dressy. But either way it is a beautiful dress!

Each time that I've worn this dress around, I've been impressed with how I'm able to look put together while feeling extremely at ease. At the same time, it manages to work for such a variety of occasions and whether I wear the Serena alone or with a light sweater (darn winter weather), it just seems to work.

I love the idea of being able to wear this dress throughout the holidays and know that I'll feel comfortable while looking chic. Whether for a special occasion or everyday life, it's the perfect combination of stylishness, high quality and great fit that every woman looks for!
