When it comes to teaching my kids healthy habits, there are some that they have easily picked up. Although they might not grow up making their bed every day (something that I just can't bring myself to even do), they both absolutely adore brushing their teeth. Before I became a parent, I never would have thought that I would have to tell my kids that no, we can't brush our teeth for the tenth time today.
So when I heard that we had the opportunity to be a host for MommyParties sponsored by Oral-B Stages I & II, I had no doubt that this would be a fun way to celebrate our favorite healthy oral regimen.
As well as Oral-B Stages Toothbrushes and Pastes, we were set to party with Disney's Winnie the Pooh on DVD, movie ticket invitations, popcorn and popcorn boxes, balloons, gift bags, activity ideas, and more. All we needed to add were friends... and their teeth!
We decided to pack up our party and bring it over to a friend's house to share the fun with the children in their at-home daycare. As this party was designed for children 4 months - 4 years old, we would have the perfect mix of kids who could join in the fun, entertainment and learning that this get-together would be sure to include.
What better way to get the kids in the mood than to start with fun flash cards? Putting my gracious friend in charge of the questions, the kids were more than happy to chime in and call out the answers.
Everything from the importance of the dentist to colors to Disney characters had them anticipating just what might come next!
Moving on to Winnie the Pooh and popcorn, two things that were a guaranteed hit...
...it soon came time to brush. It barely took a minute after the "It's time to brush our teeth!" announcement, and the kids had rushed in and were ready to go!
Talk about excitement! Each child loved their toothbrush and toothpaste and wanted to stay in the bathroom brushing and brushing and brushing.
I appreciate that Oral-B Stages I & II are dentists' #1 recommended toothbrush brand for children, and that they not only have kid appeal but are specially designed to address children's dentition, dexterity and development as they age. Combine them with the Oral-B kid-friendly Stages toothpastes and you've got a brushing routine that is sure to grow over the years.
When the kids were finally coaxed out of the bathroom...
...there was still one party-goer left that needed to be sure to shine her pearly whites (all two of them). After all, good dental hygiene habits can never start too young!
By the time the party was coming to an end, all of the kids had clean teeth and big smiles over the fun that we had. Snacks, games, Winnie the Pooh, new toothbrushes - what more could they ask for? We just might have to have more healthy playdates like this in the future, as it was such a unique way to combine education and healthy teeth and gums with the entertainment of playing with friends!
(Other than the Oral-B Stages party pack I was provided by Oral-B and MomSelect, I was not compensated or enticed to do this review in any way. This review is solely my honest opinion of these products.)
