Gemmy Airblown Inflatable Easter Bunny {Review & Giveaway}

With Easter right around the corner, it seems that everywhere I look I see jellybeans and chocolates and pastel-colored plastic grass.

While these are all great fun, of course, sometimes I like to look for a way to add a little uniqueness to the holiday. Something slightly out of the ordinary. Something that the kids will enjoy while also bringing a little lighthearted laughter and entertainment.

Which is exactly what Gemmy and their holiday home decor, advanced animatronics, and unforgettable novelty items are able to provide.

Founded in 1984, Gemmy Industries is well-known as a groundbreaker in the fields of novelties and animation and has since been equally successful in the seasonal decorations market. As the originators of Airblown Inflatables, it is almost hard to remember what front yards looked like before their life-sized figures for Christmas and Halloween were around. They've become a staple of holiday decor!

Having had a chance to review Gemmy's My Pet Firefly last summer and being blown away by how innovative and fun it was, I had no doubt that my kids were going to be thrilled with the arrival of Gemmy's Airblown Inflatable Easter Bunny.

A perfectly whimsical way to celebrate Easter, the Easter Bunny With Bow Tie & Vest arrived ready to go right out of the box. Pulling out each item, I found the bunny himself, a package of ground stakes, an extra light bulb (yes! He lights up!) and easy to read instructions.

Turning over the base, I found that the first step was already taken care of for me as each clip was already attached to the four fold-out legs.

Turning the base back over, I inserted each of the four metal stakes into the the legs to hold the bunny in place and he was set to go. All that was left to do was plug him in and watch him come to life!

Gemmy advertises that the Airblown Inflatable Easter Bunny self-inflates in seconds and they aren't exaggerating! Once plugged in, he immediately started to fill with air from the connected fan...

...and, before we knew it, there he was. All dressed up with a colorful bow tie and vest, Big Sister E and Little Sister B were amazed at his 7-ft height and how cheery and festive he was for celebrating Easter.

While this is an adorable addition to brighten up the yard, entertain neighbors, and greet friends and family who are visiting for the holiday, kids are able to have a little fun hanging out and gently playing with him as well!

Initially I was concerned about having to remember to turn this bunny on and off each day, but then realized it would be perfectly easy to connect him to an outdoor timer, just like holiday lights. Have him turn on in the morning and turn off in the evening and never have to spend any extra time yourself!

Plus, as this Easter Bunny is weather-resistant, there is never any worry about having to take him in when it rains or think about shading him from too-hot sun. Gemmy even thought to include four large ground stakes and tethers...

...so that you can secure your bunny from different directions and know that he will be able to withstand any windy spring days without toppling over.

The entire time we have had this Airblown Inflatable Easter Bunny hanging out in our yard, he has proven to be durable, high quality and just a whole lot of fun. The kids think he's great and even my husband and I can't help laughing at his cheerful grin and polka dot bow tie.

Even better, this bunny brightens up our yard in the evenings in such an entertaining and glowing sort of way.

When Easter is over, this Airblown Inflatable deflates just as quickly as he inflated and makes for easy storage. The only thing that could have made the whole process any easier would have been the addition of some sort of plastic or canvas storage bag, but rolling our bunny up and sticking him back in the original box will also work just as well.
