Happy Feet Two Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack {Review & Giveaway}

Like many other kids their age, my girls love the opportunity to watch movies. Whether we're all cozy on the couch, out watching the big screen or have a flick going in the car during a long drive, they never turn down the chance.

However, combine the entertainment of a movie with the cuteness of penguins (an animal that they both adore, particularly Little Sister B), and I almost don't even need to even turn it on to know that it would be a big hit. Are there people who don't think these aquatic, flightless birds are adorable? Can they somehow resist smiling when they see a penguin's haphazard waddle and the way it slides across the snow and ice?

Add in a very cute plot, the magnificent landscape of Antarctica in superb 3D, and music that gets your toes tapping, and it can only be the arrival of the sequel to the Academy Award-winning animated smash hit Happy Feet with Happy Feet Two.

Available in stores beginning March 13th, Happy Feet Two taps into the tale of Mumble and his musical friends in the Antarctic and will be available as a Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and Digital Download from Warner Home Entertainment Group.

Directed by George Miller, Academy Award winner for the original Happy Feet, Happy Feet Two features the voices of an all-star cast, including Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings), Oscar winner Robin Williams (Good Will Hunting), Hank Azaria (The Birdcage), Grammy award winner Alecia Moore (P!nk), Academy Award nominee Brad Pitt (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), Oscar winner Matt Damon (Good Will Hunting), Emmy award nominees Sofia Vergara (TV’s Modern Family), Common (Date Night) and Hugo Weaving (Legend of the Guardians).

Also available to elevate the viewing experience, there is a free Happy Feet Two Movie App (available through the Apple iTunes store) for IOS 4.2 or higher compatible devices, including the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The app syncs with the Blu-ray disc to provide enhanced content and interactive features and is such a fun way to sing, dance, and play along with your favorite movie characters on-screen.

In the movie, Happy Feet Two follows along with Mumble, The Master of Tap, as he has a problem. His tiny son, Erik, is choreo-phobic and lacks the talent of all the other penguins. Reluctant to dance, Erik runs away and encounters The Mighty Sven — a penguin who can fly — and Mumble knows he has no hope of competing with this charismatic new role model.

Things go from bad to worse for Mumble when the world is shaken by powerful forces and the penguins find themselves trapped with no means of escape. Erik learns of his father's guts and grit as Mumble brings together the penguin nations and all manner of fabulous creatures, from tiny Krills to giant Elephant Seals, to put things right.

As a special feature, the Happy Feet Two Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD also include an UltraViolet Digital Copy of the standard definition theatrical version of the film. This allows consumers to download and instantly stream the film to many computers, tablets and smartphones, so you can enjoy this great tale anytime, anywhere!

Although there were a few "scary parts" in this movie, my girls were never concerned and instead focused on just how cute the penguins were and, in particular, the great music included. They were both up and dancing before the opening credits were even completed!

I appreciated hearing the voices of the all-star cast included in this film (can Robin Williams do wrong?) as well as tapping my toes right along with my kids to the music. The songs were just the right mix of new and recognizable that the whole family can get into it — and P!nk makes an amazing penguin singer!

Keep an eye out for this movie to hit the shelves on March 13, and, thanks to the generosity of Warner Home Entertainment, one person will get to celebrate the release of this great sequel as well, because...
