HABA Beautifully Crafted European Moover Toys {Review & Giveaway}

Since before they could even talk, both Big Sister E and Little Sister B loved pretend play. I couldn't even count the number of hours that we've spent imagining stories and adventures of all kinds, from simple shopping and cooking of play food to in-depth trips to the moon with all of our stuffed friends.

However, to be honest, some of the toys that we have played with over the years could barely withstand a time or two of being used before they started to fall apart — dress-up clothes that ripped or plastic doll strollers that collapsed or flimsy cars with missing wheels and had to be thrown away. Let's just say that they didn't exactly make for a good time.

In answer to problems like these, one of my favorite brands, HABA, has completely revitalized the world of pretend play with the addition of their new line of high quality, solid hardwood Moover line of European toys.

Featuring classic styling and incredibly durable construction, the Moover collection offers a Baby Walker, Baby Truck, Dump Truck, Doll Pram and Rocking Horse that are made to withstand generations of play.

On top of that, they're gorgeous. The solid hardwood and attention to detail makes this collection light years better than any other that I've seen. Even before I had it out of the box, I began admiring how sleek the wood was and what a difference the rubber tires were going to make in taking the Moover Doll Pram in Red for a smooth ride.

I am always extremely appreciative of companies that make toy assembly fast and easy, as I don't know many parents that have an endless amount of free time that they want to spend putting toys together while their child waits impatiently nearby.

Instead, the Moover line features a "click key system" wherein they don't require a single tool and fit together notch by notch without a single screw. As children get older, part of the fun of playing will be the continual construction, deconstruction and reconstruction process!

In the case of the Doll Pram, however, things were even easier due to it arriving fully assembled and ready to go right out of the box.

 I mentioned the gorgeousness of these toys, right? Because they really are truly stunning.

As well as the clean lines and simple, attractive design (look at that adorable little heart-shaped window!), I could already see that there was plenty of room in this pram for dolls, stuffed animals or toys to easily fit in the deep curved seat.

The only thing that this beautiful buggy was missing? Someone to give it a push, of course! Fortunately, we were easily able to supply plenty of helpers and their imagination to put this pram to use:

Both Big Sister E and Little Sister B have had a great time with the Moover Pram (although Big Sister E is slightly on the tall side for it) and I couldn't be happier with the heirloom-quality that it has proven to be.

The large wooden wheels with rubber tires move easily on carpet, tile, hardwood or even outdoors and the handle extends far enough back that there isn't any chance of bumping toes on the bottom while pushing it.

It doesn't get much better than watching my girls play with a safe, beautifully designed toy that encourages their creativity, learning, motor skills and more.

Each time I see them taking care of their dolls, tucking them in, checking on them, stopping their "walk" for a bottle and more, I can't help but smile at the adult imitation and just how much it benefits their development... while knowing that someday I may be able to see my own granddaughters doing the same thing with this pram.

All of HABA's Moover toys are available in Natural or Red finishes at HABA's website, Maukilo.com, and really would make a perfect gift for birthdays, holidays or any special occasion. Their prices are a bit higher (the Doll Pram retails for $116.99) than what you would pay for their cheap, plastic counterparts, but the difference in the quality is immeasurable. When it comes to pretend play, the HABA name certainly means the very best!
