Barney: Planes, Trains & Cars DVD {Review & Giveaway}

I have admitted before that, prior to having children, Barney was a character that I was certain I wouldn't have in my house. There's just something so... big, and... purple about him.

And the singing and dancing and super-de-dooper talking? Oh no, not my thing.

However, my feelings from years ago don't really matter because here I am with two kids who think that Barney is top notch — the bigger and purpler the better! As for me, I've come to see why this friendly dinosaur is not only an Emmy winner but is on one of the top-rated preschool shows today. The way that he displays sharing, caring, imagination, and learning is something that I'm glad my girls want to watch.

Therefore, when he invited my kids to embark on fantastic adventures in an all-new tee-riffic DVD of transportation exploration, I knew that there would be happiness found in Barney: Planes, Trains & Cars.

Barney Planes, Trains and Cars

Arriving today, May 15, 2012, in DVD, Digital Download and On Demand formats from Lionsgate and HIT Entertainment, Barney: Planes, Trains & Cars invites viewers along on a dino-mite ride filled with laughter, friends, fun and song with Barney and his playground pals.

With a running time of 79 minutes, this DVD lets your child's imagination be their guide as they trek to places near and far by air, ground, rail and sea – all without ever leaving the comfort of your home – in these four new, transportation-themed adventures.

Barney characters

Beep beep! Toot toot! Make way for Barney and friends as they embark on fantastic adventures to places near and far. Using planes, trains, cars, boats and their imaginations, Barney engineers fun with songs and stories about exciting places. He shares important safety tips with kids such as buckling seat belts and more, and I always appreciate when messages like these are promoted to my kids.

Episodes Include:
  • On the Road Again
  • Airplanes
  • The Magic Caboose
  • Way to Go
This DVD also includes two fun bonus features:
  • Barney's Color Train Read-Along
  • Barney's Loop De Loop Counting Game

Barney planes, trains & cars

As with past Barney episodes, Big Sister E and Little Sister B were mesmerized by the catchy music and the upbeat characters that they know. As usual, it was easy for me to see why this show is trusted by moms and adored by children (it is aimed at ages 1 - 5), as Barney displays sharing, caring, imagining, dancing and learning. Add in the much-loved topic of transportation and it's a clear winner!

Retailing for $14.98, Barney: Planes, Trains & Cars (on Amazon for $11.93 with free shipping) would be a great addition for young Barney fans anywhere. This DVD does a great job of bringing education, entertainment, and fun time and time again!

Thanks to the generosity of Lionsgate and HIT Entertainment, one person will soon discover just what a great time the child in their life can have with transportation, because...
