JC Toys Cute and Realistic Baby Dolls {Review & Giveaway}

From early on, it has been clear that one of Big Sister E and Little Sister B's favorite things to do has been pretend play. And while they've flown to the moon as astronauts, constructed tall towers as engineers and sailed high seas as pirates, a longstanding favorite has always been being Mommy.

Born with a maternal instinct, my girls are eager to have a chance to take care of their own baby, just as their mother did for them. They dress them, feed them, cuddle them, rock them and more, all the while encouraging and growing their need to nurture, provide for and cherish a little one.

Whatever it is exactly that is so enchanting about a doll — that it can be a best friend, confidante, provider of safety and comfort, and more — I love seeing them tenderly taking care of their babies as they develop into the future mommies that they will be. I'm going to be one proud grandma one day!

Therefore I'm always looking for ways to encourage and allow my girls to thrive with high quality, adorable baby dolls and accessories... which is exactly what is found from JC Toys.

While my girls aren't quite collectors yet, they do know a winning doll when they see one, so it was no surprise when they couldn't wait to start taking care of the "real babies" that arrived for each of them from JC Toys.

Coming complete with removable outfits and booties, the La Newborn 14" and the Lots to Cuddle 20" Doll had both of their new owners staring at them in awe for a minute.

They're so... so... real. Little Sister B said in a hushed whisper.

But real babies don't actually come in a box, right? Big Sister E said, questioningly.

After removing each doll from her packaging, all three of us sat back to admire the small details and cute additions that had gone into making these babies truly special.

From the sweet patterns on the outfits to the intricate detailing of their faces to the coordinating caps to the La Newborn's hospital bracelet and belly button cord stump, there wasn't much more that we could have asked for to come together to complete these newborns.

After the girls impatiently waited so that I had a chance to look over each of their JC Toys babies (to find that these are indeed high quality and very well-made), they were ready to snatch them up and dive into their new roles as Mommy.

They took them for walks...

...fed them their bottles...

...tucked them in and kissed them goodnight...

...and they were a part of many, many adventures and stories. From giving La Newborn a bath (the vinyl body is perfect for going in the tub!) to taking them grocery shopping to cuddling (Lots to Cuddle has such a soft, huggable body and a delicious baby smell!), the fun and giggling didn't stop that day and hasn't stopped since.

While both girls know that these are indeed dolls, there have been plenty of times that I've peeked in at them and have watched them rock, swaddle or sing to their baby with enough of the utmost care and tenderness that I know they've taken their position as Mommy with a little extra seriousness. It helps that both the La Newborn and the Lots to Cuddle Doll really do look and feel remarkably lifelike!

There is something about a doll that allows a girl to realistically emulate the nurturing role of being mom, celebrating everything from major milestones to giggly everyday moments. JC Toys has easily captured that innocence and fun with their collections and I love the way that these dolls help express and encourage it.

Even better, I appreciate that their lines of dolls are available in different ethnicities so that little girls everywhere are able to play with and love a baby that resembles themselves. What a great way for a new young mommy to feel an even closer bond!
