Three New Signature Pancake Creations at IHOP {Review & $25 Gift Card Giveaway}

Although it wouldn't be hard to talk my family into a meal at nearly any point of the day (how is it possible that kids seem to be hungry all the time?), breakfast has always been a big favorite. Who can resist starting the day with delicious things like eggs, hash browns and pancakes?

And one of the names that knows what it takes to continually reinvent the breakfast experience has done it again. IHOP, the family restaurant chain known for its world famous buttermilk pancakes for more than half a century, has recently turned up the flavor for breakfast by announcing the availability of three signature pancake creations this summer.

IHOP signature pancakes

For 53 years, IHOP has served its world famous pancakes and a wide variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner items that are loved by people of all ages. As we have always found that IHOP does indeed offer its guests an affordable, everyday dining experience with warm and friendly service, we were excited to get to head over for a visit.

Although we knew about the trio of special pancake creations, when we arrived at IHOP, we didn't know just how difficult it was going to be to choose between them!

After being immediately shown to a table, we found the three pancake specials showcased in a special menu insert... with each one looking just as delectable as the next.

IHOP menu

Red velvet pancakes, sweet strawberry pancakes and whole wheat pancakes with banana? Yum! Right away I appreciated that the three options ensure that whether you prefer a classic, seasonal or wholesome choice, there is a breakfast option that is sure to be perfect for your meal:
  • Red Velvet Pancakes: Rich chocolaty red velvet pancakes, drizzled with cream cheese icing, a dusting of powdered sugar and crowned with whipped topping.
  • Sweet Strawberry Pancakes: IHOP's fluffy famous buttermilk pancakes crowned with cool strawberries in a glaze, drizzled with cream cheese icing and crowned with whipped topping.
  • Whole Wheat Pancakes with Banana: Wholesome and lightly sweet, fluffy whole wheat pancakes topped with fresh sliced bananas.
While all three pancake creations sounded tasty, I finally decided on the Red Velvet Pancakes, because when else am I going to get to try chocolate pancakes with cream cheese icing? Even better, as each of the signature pancakes are available as a part of IHOP's egg combos, I was able to try these along with eggs and hash browns for only $4.99!

IHOP breakfast

Oh, but these pancakes. These delicious, tasty pancakes.

While there was no way that I was going to be able to eat them all (nor would my waistline have appreciated it if I had), these were perfect for the whole family to share. My two young breakfast companions had no problem making room for a few bites of their own...

...and I really did think that my husband was going to lick the plate clean to get every last morsel up. I looked away when I thought that he had finished even with a few bites left...

...only to see him snatch them up in a satisfactory bite a moment later. Yes, these pancakes were definitely a hit.

IHOP's signature summer pancakes are available starting at $4.99 only through September 2nd at participating IHOP locations, so be sure to head over and try them before they're gone. Be prepared to leave with a full stomach, though — I was sitting back relaxing while my husband brought the girls to wash their hands after our breakfast and even our server gave a good-natured comment on how I appeared to be stuffed!

For more information on these (and all of IHOP's yummy meals) or to find an IHOP restaurant near you, visit IHOP.com. Plus, thanks to their generosity, one person will be able to try out classic favorites or new breakfast creations themselves, because...

One lucky person will win a $25 gift card to IHOP!
