Therefore, just in time to celebrate the change in weather, Anchor Bay Entertainment and Scholastic have provided the perfect way with the release of Chuggington: Icy Escapades in DVD and book form!
Starring everyone's favorite Chuggington characters and available now, this fun-filled traintastic tale will have any young trainee's bumpers bursting with excitement as they follow Koko, Wilson, Brewster as they attempt to save the day when the frozen landscape threatens to stop up the town.
In this adventurous DVD, the crew takes on the tracks as snow and ice cover Chuggington. When the railes become frozen, it's up to Wilson, Koko and Brewster help out and keep the town moving. With help from their fellow Chuggers, the Trainees get rescued from a blizzard, dig their way out of snow drifts, and even take to the skies when the wintery winds lift Hodge from the rails!
Fans of all ages will enjoy sharing in the journey as the Trainees learn important lessons of teamwork and problem-solving, while discovering how much they love living in Chuggington.
In the colorful, easy-to-read book, Wilson and Koko head out to sand the tracks to avoid ice buildup in the mountains. But, as Wilson is having too much fun exploring to keep his mind on the job, he doesn't realize that an icicle has fallen into his sand wagon and has wet the sand and rendered it useless.
While Wilson's misstep almost ruins all of their hard work, he works hard to figure out a way to dry the sand by using the heat from his engine and makes it back to the depot — solving the problem and ensuring Chuggington is safe for all of the Chuggers!
If you have a Chuggington fan in your life, they will surely enjoy moving full steam ahead with Chuggington: Icy Escapades this winter. I appreciate that this show always finds a way to introduce valuable social skills in with their entertaining tales and that this DVD and book are no exception.
I always know that it doesn't matter in what form we are experiencing Chuggington, but that these cheerful, friendly trains will be promoting the importance of accepting responsibility, tackling new challenges, being patient and more. Those are qualities that I never get tired of seeing demonstrated for my kids!
Recommended for ages 3 and up, this DVD has a running time of 61 minutes and is available now with a retail price of $14.98 (a few dollars less on Amazon) and this book retails for $3.99. For any child that loves Chuggington, both of these Icy Escapades are sure to bring a great deal of train-related entertainment this season and beyond.
As an added bonus for anyone living in the New York area that is able to get to the Scholastic Store in New York City (557 Broadway, New York, NY) on Saturday, November 3 at 11am EST, they will be showing this new animated feature on the big screen in Scholastic's auditorium!
Be sure to head over for traintastic games, Chuggington-themed activities, a train table providing attendees and their little chuggers with loads of traintacular fun and more.
And, thanks to the generosity of Chuggington, one person will be honking their horns in wintery happiness soon as well, because...
One lucky person will win the Icy Escapades DVD and book!
