Sure, I could research and find out about airwaves and how sound travels to try to grasp the concept of the telephone... but would that make me less in awe of the way that I can press a few buttons and talk to someone on the other side of the world? Probably not.
In the same way, I get that somehow all of the pipes in our house are connected to a water source that can instantly pump in gallons of water when I go to fill the bathtub, but overall it still baffles me a bit.
What I do know is that when it comes to plumbing, it's not something that I want to mess with. Which is why I appreciate that Charmin is making that even easier with the introduction of the Charmin Basic.
Ever wonder what happens to your toilet paper when it’s flushed? If you've wanted to find out, Charmin has created an informative video that evaluates its toilet paper to ensure that it is safe for all the places it might end up after flushing (drain lines, sewers, septic tanks, and municipal wastewater treatment plants).
As the video explains, extensive tests show that when Charmin is used as intended in a properly functioning plumbing system, it shouldn't cause plumbing problems. In fact, Charmin has been a reliable bath tissue, trusted in millions of Americans' homes, for over 70 years!
Right now, CVS is expanding its assortment of Charmin by carrying Charmin Basic 1 roll. Charmin Basic is two times stronger than the leading value brand when wet, meaning that you change your toilet paper roll less often. Plus, because it's a stronger product so you use less, which ends up saving money.
Combine that with the fact that Charmin Basic has been tested and proven safe for your plumbing system, and it's a win-win!
If you're ready to put Charmin Basic to the test, as well as see what other high quality P&G products CVS carries, you're in luck! Because thanks to the generosity of Proctor & Gamble...
One lucky person will win a CVS P&G Prize Pack*!
*Prize Pack includes: (1) $10 CVS Gift Card, (1) Charmin Basic 1 roll, (1) Febreze Candle, and (1) Febreze NOTICEables Warmer and Refills

We have always had plumbing problems at this house... I think the line to the sewer is getting overrun by tree roots! We even had the front yard torn up to put in a new sewer pipe. But, I think that the problems are under the street in our court before our line reaches the main sewer line... Grr!

at our old house a pipe in the walls leaked and we had to cut in through our kitchen ceiling to get to it - what a mess

Thank you for the chance to win!
We've had some issues like clogged toilets and even a clogged garbage disposal. Nothing just off the wall crazy though. Knock on wood.

Yes, like a backed up sink, clogged bathtub, and a overflowing toilet here and there.

Our biggest plumbing problem is that we have one of those "green" toilets that supposedly uses less water. However, it takes between 4-8 flushes to get it to go down! :)
We've had a few plumbing problems, but none too terrible.
We have never had plumbing mishaps thank Goodness!!!
well yes many times and the mess it created was a worst part of it.
yes. plumbing problems
Yes, we've had plumbing mishaps a few times. Leaky pipes can be a real mess.
Thank God we haven't had any in quite a while.
Plenty, we had a sewer pipe clog issue
so far we haven't knock on wood, carawling(at)hotmail(dot)com
we learned after we bought our house that the front pipes are bent in eeh yard and will back up reguarly...of course the plumber suggested redoing all the pipes for 90,000...yep, we opted out and guess what? Hasn't backed up again, but we'll see :)
Many times. The worst was when our son put a pencil down the toilet without us knowing. Sometimes the toilet would work, others not. My husband had to take the whole toilet apart and that's when we found the pencil. lol
Thanks so much
We've been lucky - just leaky faucets.
Thanks for the giveaway!
we had some problems about a year ago, the dirty water was backing up to all the sinks in the house

In my rental property we had a leaking pipe under the tub on the second floor. it was fun to pay that bill!
I always have concerns when I have a septic tank, and I certainly have had my share of toilet overflows, mostly due to the type of tp.
Lots of plumbing mishaps, especially when my daughter was little. When she moved out, I noticed I was going through a third of the toilet paper and those mishaps seemed to stop, too.
YEs from leaking from the CHEAP turn off valves hubby put in under EACh SINK... to the kids clogging the toilets.. we have our share...
NEVER CUT CORNERS WITH YOUR PLUMBING.
No plumbing mishaps...yet!
Yep! With only one bathroom we've had a number of toilet overflows due to too much toilet paper being used. Too many girls in this house.
Yes, when the pump failed on our well and we were without water.
I pushed the kitchen faucet to far and water went everywhere. Worse yet I didn't know where the cut off was. We had quiet a mess.
Our water heater had a tiny leak a few years back. We're lucky it wasn't a larger leak, and that we caught it early!
Oh, yes. We have had leaky pipes in the kitchen and the bathroom. We had to replace a water heater and we had clogged drainage pipes.
Not too much at this house but my former apartment, yes
yes i have
Worst mishap was when the garbage disposal decided to start leaking water.
Oh yea! We actually shared a septic tank with a neighbor before they moved and every time they flushed the toilet, it would back up into ours... ewww!!

Plumbing mishaps? Absolutely! Infact, just last month I had an issue. Hopefully it will be the last.

pipe broke and water all over
Oh yes...I've had to have entire lines of plumbing redone in a house. I seem to always have trouble with leaky faucets and clogged drains.
recently we had a leak in the pipes in the wall in our living room. We still have the old fashioned baseboard heat.We are having forced air installed in the spring.
Our upstairs toiler overflowed once and wouldn't stop running. By the time we got home, it had come through the ceiling and we had an inch of water downstairs.
never had any huge bathroom messes ........just the reg overflow eek
I've been pretty lucky, we've had only one overflow incident. And it was fixed by snaking out the tub? Weird isn't it?
yes many mishaps
Yes! The builders screwed a screw into our flexi-pipes.
When we lived up north there was an occasional problem with freezing pipes in the winter.

My son seems to clog the toilet everytime he goes.
the septic backed up twice in 3 years--roots.
Last Thanksgiving, our garbage disposal stopped working so the sink got blocked up. We had a plumber come out the next day.
Our old house in FL had a major overflow where we it went into the carpeted bedrooms. We had roots growing through our pipes in our yard that caused it. What a mess! Thankfully, we moved to TX and it is not our problem anymore. :-_

edq143 at yahoo dot com

I just had to move b/c of plumbing issues in my apt.
No bathroom mishaps!!
A flood was in the basement and destroyed lots of my things.
We came in late at night from a Day in an Amusement Park... the 5 year old was the last to use the bathroom...everyone crashed as we were so tired...none of us heard the commode running..and running...and running...ALL night long. I woke up to the carpet in my bedroom completely soaked... as was the 2nd bedroom & Hallway. COMPLETE disaster. Thank goodness for Home Insurance. We got ALL new flooring.
Aside from the occasional clogged toilet, we haven't had any major missteps.
We bought an older house, and we have had to replace 80 percent of the plumbing. It seems that if it carries water, it get clogged around here. I will be glad when we could finally build our own house from scratch!

nothing other than the cat knocking the tp in the toilet

Overflowing toilet is our only mishap
so far so good
We live in an older home. The copper pipes thin over time and get pin hole leaks. Our township almost seemed gleeful as they informed us that the new water tower was expectd to cause issues with the older development's pipes. They were right - water spots would start appearing randomly in the basement ceiling.
We have had many plumbing mishaps in our home; kitchen sink, toilet and shower - all in one year.
