This post brought to you by Mrs. Smith's. All opinions are 100% mine.
For Thanksgiving last month, I was able to bring one of the most important dishes: pie.
Mmmm, pie.
As delicious as the caramel apple and chocolate walnut pies turned out, they did take me quite a few hours the night before to create. From the peeling to the chopping to the rolling... I was happy to do it, but probably more happy that I wasn't also in charge of the entire rest of the meal. Who finds the time to bake pies if they also have to make turkey or ham or corn or mashed potatoes or stuffing or just about anything else?
Fortunately, for those people that still want to celebrate the sweet things in life but don't want to devote hours to doing so, Mrs. Smith's has created a new line of delicious pies that can provide the homemade taste without the time commitment.
And once you've tried Mrs. Smith's Signature Deep Dish pies, you'll be hooked on incorporating them into many more memories, events and occasions in the future!
Created more than a century ago, Amanda Smith perfected her pies and cobblers with amazing attention to detail and premium quality ingredients. Today, the company still uses the same attention to detail and premium quality ingredients for that made-from-scratch goodness you can see and taste.
When it came to developing the new Signature Deep Dish Pie recipes, they made sure to use real butter in their delicious, flaky crust and added more fruit for a satisfying bite every time. As a bonus, Mrs. Smith's also created new icing packets that are paired with each of their Signature Pies to accent the traditional flavors and allow you to add a personal touch to every slice. Yum!
As I headed to the store to find each of the four new varieties - Dutch Apple with Caramel Sauce, Cherry with Butter Fudge Sauce, Peace with Cream Cheese Icing, and Pumpkin with Cream Cheese Icing - I was just a tad eager to see how amazing these pies would be.
Unfortunately, even though I visited store after store after store (after store. Seriously), I only managed to locate a single Signature Deep Dish Pie in my entire city. Either these are just not quite on the store shelves yet or they're extremely popular (or both)!
Regardless, I took one last look at the remaining Mrs. Smith's Pre-Baked pies...
...and was still extremely happy to find the one Signature Deep Dish Pumpkin with Cream Cheese Icing pie there. It was time to head home and have a special treat!
Right away I was glad to see that Mrs. Smith's had done all of the work for me, leaving me to pretty much just stick this pie into my oven and wait for it to be done. It even comes fully prepared in its own pan!
After preheating, baking for 80 - 100 minutes (I check at 80 and it looked done to me!), and letting it cool for two hours (that was the most difficult part, as how is anyone expected to smell the combination of pumpkin, cinnamon, sweetened condensed milk and a real buttery crust but not be able to eat it right away?) it was done.
As if a homemade pumpkin pie wasn't enough by itself, I love that Mrs. Smith's included a pouch of real cream cheese icing to go with it. If there is ANYTHING that isn't made better with cream cheese icing, I haven't met it yet.
This Signature Deep Dish Pie received a clear thumbs up around here, as it combines just the right amount of thick, rich pumpkin flavor with the light, flaky crust. It really does taste like I spent hours in the kitchen making it!
For a made-from-scratch goodness you can see and taste, Mrs. Smith's Signature Deep Dish pies can easily become a part of your family's traditions. I am definitely going to be keeping an eye out for the other three flavors to be in stock when I'm out shopping, as the idea of having a slice of Dutch Apple with Caramel Sauce or Peach with Cream Cheese Icing makes my mouth water every time!
To find out more about Mrs. Smith's full line of desserts, visit MrsSmiths.com, connect with them on Facebook and Pinterest, and check their list of retailers to find one near you. And, thanks to their generosity, one person will be able to customize their own pie and kitchen gifts as well, because...
A big thank you to Mrs. Smith's for providing compensation and samples for me and a $50 Williams-Sonoma gift card and Deep Dish Pie coupon for one lucky giveaway winner. The opinions shared are my own and honest and if you really need to see more, click here to see how I roll.
