Innovative, Practical and Convenient: GRIP2 Rain Umbrella {Review}

GRIP2 logo
There are some products that are continually changing as more and more improvements are made over the years. After all, we're not still keeping our food cold in a refrigerator or wearing shoes that look like the first ones ever invented, right?

On the other hand, there are some that seem to be left alone, as though there is just no way to update the original that will do it justice. Generations of babies have been fed Cheerios because they're just the perfect, easy to eat, easy to handle starter food, and I have no doubt that my grandchildren and their grandchildren will do the same.

But then there are umbrellas. They're clearly a necessity and product that (usually) does what it is intended to do... but it seems like the amount of hassle and problems that occur would have warranted someone to rethink the design.

Does it have to be so difficult to hold with one hand? Why does a strong wind always manage to blow it around enough so that I end up drippy and wet? Not to mention that if the rain isn't hitting the umbrella just right, it's probably blowing onto my clothes in various spots anyway?

Fortunately, this classic tool has been updated to take into account ways to make it more innovative, practical, comfortable and convenient in the form of the GRIP2.

GRIP2 Umbrella

While a quick glance might give the impression that the GRIP2 umbrella isn't much different from any other umbrella, it only takes a slightly closer look (or one time handling it) before you realize that this is, in fact, much more unique, smart and well thought-out. It's an umbrella 2.0, if you will.

Providing maximum coverage and maximum control, the GRIP2 has a one-of-a-kind repositionable grip that makes it up to 70% easier to hold and control in wind as compared to leading umbrellas. Instead of having to juggle so that both hands are free (when does that ever happen?) or fret when your one hand gets tired of holding in the middle of the stem, simply move the GRIP2's handle to make it perfectly controllable and comfortable.

Knowing that the GRIP2 would be great for all of the rainy weather that we've been experiencing here this spring, I couldn't wait to try it out and see what a difference it could make in keeping me dry.

GRIP2 umbrella size
Someone thought that it was exceptionally cool that she and the umbrella were the same height.

Right away when I opened the GRIP2, I was impressed with the very large size of the canopy and the way that it would easily cover not only me but my children as well.

While I appreciate a compact, folding umbrella as being small and easy to carry, I've typically found that they don't end up doing well when it comes to actual coverage.

large umbrella

But as well as the great size, once I tried adjusting and moving the repositionable grip, it was clear that the scientific reasoning (concepts such as torque, leverage and grip ergonomics) that went into this design were the answer that the standard umbrella has been needing all along.

GRIP2 umbrella technology

By simply moving and locking the handle to any position on the shaft, it makes it extremely easy to stay completely in control of the GRIP2 no matter what. No more feeling like the top of your umbrella is wobbling or bending when you can simply move the grip higher and higher!

umbrella grip

Just slide the ergonomic, rubberized, soft-feel grip to the height that feels right for you and the pinchless close mechanism allows you to grab on with ease.

Your second hand is now free to text on your phone, hold your child's hand, take a picture, hail a cab, walk the dog, carry a briefcase, take a drink, push a stroller and much more.

big umbrella

Overall, I have been extremely impressed with the GRIP2 and the protection and comfort it has been able to provide when the elements are anything less than ideal. The auto-open and easy-to-close features are great, the large canopy has proven quite wind-resistant, the waterproof nylon dries quickly and the lightweight feel combined with the unique grip doesn't strain my arm in calm or windy conditions.

Just check out the difference that this great umbrella can make!

Available in black, navy, black & white, and navy & white, the GRIP2 retails for $54.95 (with free shipping!), comes with a limited lifetime warranty, and can be ordered directly from GRIP2umbrellas.com.

Whether you spend the most time outdoors walking, hiking, camping, watching sports, golfing, shopping or simply chasing after your kids, the GRIP2 umbrella might just be the thing you're looking for to make your rainy days much less of a hassle. Once you've tried it, you'll wonder how you could ever go back to a regular umbrella again!

Other than the GRIP2 umbrella that I was provided in order to facilitate my review, I was not compensated or enticed to do this review in any way. This review is solely my honest opinion about this innovative product.

Sometimes they do reinvent the wheet. The improvements to this umbrella are fantastic. I love the fact that it can be customized to the height you need.

You know I don't even own an umbrella? Sad right? This looks like a quality umbrella that is large. Loving that handle!

This would be perfect for my brother, who seems to unable to form a committed relationship with an umbrella. Maybe the special grip on this would stay in his hand and not blow away!

I love this umbrella! I think the "cheerio" has been improved so to speak! The handle feature is awesome, I am short so sometimes I have to had the stem in the middle. So much nicer!

I like the fact that the umbrella has a large canopy that has proven to be quite wind-resistant. When you live in S. FL this is important especially during rainy season when afternoon storms can blow you away!!

Those do sound like great improvements to the old umbrella. Good size and one hand holding is good.

I just found out my cousin has this umbrella! I'm going over there later this week, so I can check it out. If it's all that seems to be, I'm getting one for my brother!
