Post and giveaway sponsored by AMDRO, but all opinions are my own. Please see below for additional disclosure.
There are many nuisances in our lives that we just have to learn to live with. Mosquitoes buzzing at the picnic. Dust settling the day after you've cleaned. Taxes.
On the other hand, some annoyances can be effectively eliminated, assuming that we turn to the right method or product. We don't have to get soaked standing in the rain as long as we have a working umbrella. We don't have to suffer through allergy symptoms if we use the right antihistamine.
And we don't have to live with weeds and bugs (indoors and out) if we reach for the innovative, easy-to-use AMDRO PowerFlex Pest & Weed System.
The AMDRO PowerFlex Pest & Weed System moves pest and weed control into the 21st century of technology by creating one innovative solution that fits all of consumers' control needs. The battery-powered sprayer features four specialty formulated cartridges that eliminate a wide range of pests – from ants and cockroaches to dandelion and many other hard-to-control weeds.
Could this really get much easier? The all-in-one system simplifies indoor and outdoor pest and weed control by helping consumers eliminate unwanted pests in three easy steps:
- Fill the reusable one gallon tank with clean water.
- Twist in one of four patent-pending cartridges.
- Spray to treat target pests; quickly switch between projects by removing the cartridge, flushing the applicator for ten seconds with water from the tank and twisting in a new cartridge.
With four different cartridges available for the AMDRO PowerFlex — Weed & Grass Killer Concentrate; Lawn Weed Killer Concentrate; Yard & Perimeter Outdoor Insect Killer Concentrate; and Home Pest Indoor Killer Concentrate — I had no doubt that I would be able to put this revolutionary all-in-one system to use.
Looking over the AMDRO PowerFlex and assortment of concentrated cartridges, I immediately knew which one I was going to try first: the Weed & Grass Killer Concentrate.
While I may be disorganized and a bit of a mess in other areas of my life, I take pride in being in charge of the appearance of our lawn. You know those neighbors that you might think are a bit obsessive about mowing perfectly straight lines?
Yep, I'm that crazy neighbor.
There's just something so satisfying about having a plush green lawn that the idea of it being spoiled by weeds irritates me like nothing else. Therefore, it's not much of an exaggeration to say that when there are random patches of weeds growing up in our rocks or coming through mulch, it is pretty much the bane of my existence.
Yuck, yuck and yuck (especially those horribly annoying prickly ones).
While my husband has tried a variety of things in the past, weeds always seem to continue to grow back. Could the AMDRO PowerFlex be the answer that we've been looking for? It was time to find out.
After filling the AMDRO PowerFlex with water and twisting the cartridge into place, it was time to get spraying!
Here is a short how-to showing just how quick and easy it was to put the AMDRO PowerFlex and the Weed & Grass Killer Concentrate to work!
It really couldn't have been much easier and I love the way that the AMDRO PowerFlex provides all of the muscle and does all of the work for me. Simply point, shoot and spray!
I'll post an updated photo soon showing the condition of our weed patches and hopefully they will look much, much better. Not to mention that I'm going to be looking around my house to find out what other pests that I can eliminate thanks to this great device!
Created to simplify indoor and outdoor pest and weed control unlike any other product on the market, AMDRO PowerFlex products range from $11.99 to $14.99 and are available at The Home Depot, Walmart and select regional retailers.
You can find out much more and see if the AMDRO PowerFlex is right for you by visiting their website and connecting with AMDRO on Facebook and Twitter. My brother does our yard work but we do pull weeds out of the flower beds on a regular basis.
I'm horrible at weed control. I try to use a spray to kill them but it doesn't always work.
Get the kids to help out pulling weeds. They think it's fun and you get a lot more done with their help.
We use weedkiller frequently. We also put down mulch and that helps keep the weeds down.
We don't have any flower beds so we don't have any weeds to worry about, except for the ones that grow around the edge of our house and porch. We just use a weed eater to chop those down :).
I can not use weed killer outside becasue my dogs can get sick. I use a weed wacker and I pull the weeds. On the inside of the house, I put up sticky tapes to get the flies and bugs if the come in,or I use a good old fashioned fly swatter.
Ducks! Our ducks forage in the back yard by munching on weeds!!
My tips aren't too good. My daughter just tried doing ours and killed a lot of the lawn, or maybe the lawn was all weeds
Use weed killers, and use weed and feed on the lawn a couple times a year.
I pull weeds, clear debris and do not leave any standing water around.
My best tip on weeds would be to get out there every week and pull them little buggers !
I have a small garden and lots of pets so i really pull everything by hand. This would be amazing out by the mailbox and such though!
Use a weedkiller as soon as you see them pop up.
I use a weed and feed a few times a year on our lawn. That seems to help.
Every time I go outside, I pull a weed. So I get about 10 a day.
Treat them when they are small!

It is important to use a weedkiller and to trim the weeds as you see them, Do not let them get out of hand!!
My best tip to control pests inside my home is to hire an organic exterminator.
I pull weeds almost constantly. I hate it, but it is the best way to get rid of them.
Before I put fresh mulch down in the spring, I sprinkle preen where I do not want things to spread or grow!

We use vinegar for the weeds in between the cracks in the concrete.
My lawn is full of weeds, so I don't have any good tip for getting rid of them! Sometimes my kids will pull them! I need help with them:)
Vinegar and dish soap and water.
Thanks for the chance.
Sadly my best tip is to pull weeds often and also spray killer for those that I don't get the roots. I kind of do it at the same time...pull and spray. I so dislike this choir.
get them early. don't let the seeds spread.
Best way to avoid weeds? Don't have a lawn! I live in an apartment and never have to worry about weeds.
My tip for weed control is to pull or hoe them before they go to seed
My best tip for weed control is get rid of them whenever seeing it....including the root. I know it's not an easy task. I can't wait to try this Amdro PowerFlex. Seems so easy to use. :) I always love your recommendations.
amy [at] utry [dot] it
pull them! Or a spray made of a natural, biodegradable dish soap and water.
make sure you put the weed killer on before it rains.
we have deer coming thru that feed in the wet lands nearby. Their droppings sometimes include the seeds of some very invasive weeds. Watch the grass for growth of anything new and different. I've pulled some weird stuff to carry into the local lawn and garden center to ask ... what is this and what will take care of it. Most is normal, but my neighbor took in some kind of a creeping vine that he was seriously recommended to just dig that area out and reseed.
my best tip is to remove weeds weekly
i use white vinegar to kill the thistles in my yard. works every time! thanks for the awesome giveaway-the house next door has been vacant for 3 years and their weeds are migrating to my yard-yikes!

weed regularly
I spray with a weed killer.
janetfaye (at) gmail (dot) com
I use weed and feed on my lawn early in the spring.
I actually like weeds and bugs. Those "annoying prickly ones" you hate look like thistle, which Goldfinches use in summer for nest-building as well as seed-eating, and which Painted Lady butterflies use exclusively for egg-laying. And Monarch butterflies use only milkweed.
For me, it's a question of being selective about which "weeds" I pull.
We use a weed killer and pluck them also.
Put vaseline in carpenter bee holes. They'll go in but can't get out.
Well, we keep some moth balls near the wooded area on our property to ward of snakes and the past 2 summers, we haven't seen any, so it must be working.
Next, we had a groundhog problem so I purchased some coyote urine (yes gross) and sprayed that around the perimeter of the yard and guess what? We have only seen one so far this season! Yay
Marigolds in your garden will keep some pesty insects away.
Thank you

We try to catch it early in the spring before it gets out of hand
I use weed barrier cloth and lots of mulch but when I do get weeds I pull them by hand.
We are terrible about weeds, so any help would be appreciated!
Quite honestly- the BEST thing for weeds is to cultivate a LOT in the spring, then mulch heavily. Insects- I attempt to pick off pests, but when they are out of control, I choose the safest spray and am VERY selective about using it, to avoid harming the bees and good bugs.
best to get the weeds before they seed
kids love to help, we do a bucket of weeds is an extra $1!

For pests, we seem to get huge spiders along our property, so we spray the sides of the house (outdoors, of course!) with OrthoMax. That seems to help keep them away. For weeds in the garden, heard that vinegar helps deter them.
I am horrible at keeping up with weeds and just do it the old fashioned way: pull them.
I pull out weeds in the spring and try to keep it under control through out the summer. If it gets too bad I will use a spray to kill the weeds but have to be careful around our pets. Thanks!
be consistent on pulling weeds out, and find a good weed killer that you like.
Thank you for the awesome giveaway!
Take care of it early asap. If you put it off it creates more damage and is harder to handle!

Healthy grass works the best. That and pine straw in the flower beds.
My chickens -natural pest control!
Weeds often kill so many plants and flowers that this year we are trying to have a container garden until I can fix 3 years of damaged beds, that were left un-tended.
be proactive!
Actually, my best pest control tip is...Amdro! We use it every summer when we are overrun with both fire ants and black ants.
Know what weeds are in your garden and use the right product for that/those weeds.

I have used vinegar and boiling water before. Or I just pull them.

We use bark dust which helps a little. We also pull them frequently and the ones that are hard to pull or are very small get zapped now and then with weed killer. For pests we spray around the house foundation and inside along the baseboards (preventative) and anywhere we see them outside. We don't usually have a problem.
