Maybe it is that they give back to their community, that they treat their employees well or that they make every effort to go green. Or maybe it is that they produce a product that enhances your life in one way or another or that they hold themselves up to extremely high standards when it comes to pleasing their customers or staying true to their history.
But how often do you find one company that embodies all of that? One that you have always appreciated and respected... and then you have the chance to truly get to know them and find that not only do they live up to your expectations, but they blow them away?
To put it all another, more simple way: I love you, Auntie Anne's.
After having the opportunity to involve both of my kids in an extremely fun and unique Pretzel Party earlier this year, I had assumed that my relationship with Auntie Anne's would return back to the status quo (i.e. me drooling over the aroma... or thought... of their tasty creations and continuing to adore them from afar) and that would be that.
Little did I know that I would instead be getting on a plane and heading to Lancaster, PA to spend time with an amazing group of bloggers and meet the entire Auntie Anne's family. That's right, including the one and only Auntie Anne herself.
From the history that we learned to the feedback that we shared to the samples that we tasted to the extremely fun afternoon spent attending Pretzel University and gaining a portion of the knowledge that goes into running a franchise and making delicious pretzel after delicious pretzel...
It honestly was... amazing. There wasn't a single person who didn't have a smile on their face and the excitement and passion that each Auntie Anne's team member embodied truly was contagious. The whole trip was unforgettable!
Along with all of the other fun and learning that occurred in Lancaster, we also had a sneak peek at a few new products that Auntie Anne's had in the works... and one of them has recently debuted!
That's right! Mini Pretzel Dogs! Officially kicking off last month, these Mini Dogs are the miniature versions of the Original Pretzel Dog (made with Nathan’s Famous all-beef hot dogs) and they have been met with rave reviews to taste tests everywhere.
Super cute little hot dog + mouthwatering Auntie Anne's pretzel = how can you go wrong?
Mini Pretzel Dogs making their TV debut on FOX & Friends! |
In honor of the Mini Pretzel Dogs joining the Auntie Anne's family, it's time to test your knowledge on all things hot dog. Think you're a trivia buff? Give these a try (answers down below, no peeking!)...
1. Just how big did the world’s biggest hot dog measure?
a) 686 feet
b) 1,002 feet
c) 1,996 feet
d) 2,012 feet
2. According to the National Hot Dog & Sausage Council, Americans eat how many hot dogs during hot dog season (Memorial Day – Labor Day)?
a) 443 million
b) 1 billion
c) 5.2 billion
d) 7 billion
3. Where was America’s first hot dog stand?
a) Coney Island
b) New York City
c) Boston
d) Philadelphia
1. C 1,996 feet – created by the Sara Lee Corporation in honor of the 1996 Olympics
2. D 7 billion – this translates to 818 hot dogs every second during that period!
3. A Coney Island – opened in 1871, with the owner selling 3,684 franks in a roll during his first year of operation
Where would we be today without hot dogs? It's a thought that could frighten kids (as well as adults) from coast to coast!
