But in the rush of getting kids prepared and ready for a new school year to start, why does it seem like the basic necessities are the ones that are typically forgotten? Sure, you know all about the cool new jeans that your daughter has been asking for, but do you have any idea if she has enough t-shirts, underwear or socks?
This Back to School season, don't forget to stock up on the school supplies that kids really need while also saving some cash at the same time with the Fruit of the Loom "Underwear for Overachievers" Program!
That's right, it's now easier and more affordable than ever to set your entire family up for success with the diverse selection of colors, patterns, and style options that Fruit of the Loom offers with their seasonal bonus packs.
With one, two or even three extra items free per pack, kids and teens have a chance to express their "true colors" with the first thing they put on in the morning in even greater numbers.
Admit it, your unmentionables play a major part in how you feel about your complete outfit (and therefore your mood) for the day, right? Kids are no different!
With that in mind, I was feeling like pretty much a failure of a parent when I looked in my girls' dressers and found that their socks and underwear were in a pretty sad state.
Really, Mom? Broken elastic sticking out all over the place? Cotton worn thin everywhere? How can I think that my girls will be able to focus on doing their best in school when they start their day with this?
That's when it was time to head to Walmart to give my kids a fresh start this school year. Let's kick off 2013-2014 the right way!
While Back to School shopping with kids typically isn't high on anyone's Super Fun To-Do List, I appreciate the way that Walmart makes it fast, easy and convenient.
With aisle after aisle of affordable notebooks, folders, binders, glue sticks and much more, all that is left to do is fill your cart with the items needed for your child's classroom — and Walmart even makes that easy with their School Supply Lists (broken down by school and grade) right when you walk in the door!
Thanks to Big Sister E's school's PTO (who make it possible to buy all the supplies through them) and Little Sister B's short 4K (4-year-old kindergarten) list, we were able to bypass most of the typical school supplies and head right over to look for Fruit of the Loom.
The colors! The patterns! The different options in style and cut — there are even four different "heights" of socks to choose from! After the girls debated the merits of each fashionable option for a while, we headed home to wash our new purchases and see what old pieces could be replaced.
Sure enough, along with tossing out multiple pairs of underwear that resembled those in the photo up above, I was able to take a deep breath of satisfaction knowing that my kids would be reaching for the comfort and quality of their new Fruit of the Loom pieces instead.
Because what kind of mother wouldn't cringe when her kids' socks look like this?
Be gone, old raggedy socks!
Every day since our shopping trip, the girls have excitedly talked about getting to put on their new socks and underwear, as well as raving about just how soft and comfortable the socks have been. I'm definitely considering this an extremely successful Back to School shopping trip!
This year, let Fruit of the Loom and their "Underwear for Overachievers" campaign get your children and teens ready to head off to school with confidence, comfort and style. I couldn't be happier that we were able to pick up these necessities at such a great price — and with the three free pairs of underwear in each pack, we stocked up for even less!
Be sure to visit Fruit of the Loom to find out more about their full lines of products for men, women and children (socks, underwear, t-shirts, camis, tank tops and more!) and connect with them on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest as well.
Plus, thanks to their generosity, one person will be even more prepared to stock up on all of the basics and essentials that their kids need to start off the school year on the right foot as well, because...
One lucky person will win a $75 Walmart gift card

We apparently need a different backpack! However, my thoughts are these: if you wouldn't required a 3" binder and 3-subject notebooks for each class, we wouldn't have to buy rolling luggage for school. Also, how about a locker? Pardon me -- I seem to be going off.
