Haunted Halloween Baking with Kraft Foods {$100 Baking Prize Pack Giveaway!}

Kraft logo
With the arrival of autumn, it has meant a sudden burst of trees with beautiful red, orange and yellow leaves, the sun going down earlier in the evenings and a slight chill in the air. I love it!

Along with being able to snuggle under fleece blankets or listen to the sound of the leaves crunching when we're out for a walk, I love seeing the excitement in my kids' eyes as they anticipate the arrival of one of their most festive (and favorite) holidays of the year... Halloween is right around the corner! How could they not be giddy over getting to wear fun costumes and go trick-or-treating for yummy goodies?

This year, however, we have had much more than candy to look forward to, as Kraft has easily gotten us into the Halloween spirit with their delicious products and inspiration to create some delicious spook-tacular treats!

Kraft Halloween

How could we not be inspired to get into the eerie, spine-chilling mood of Halloween with these delicious ingredients, great tools and cute decor?

I have always loved the way that JELL-O makes it incredibly easy to create spooky, yet tasty, creations with their variety of JIGGLERS Halloween molds and this year is no exception. Why not turn a traditional treat into one that is frightfully fun and serve up some JELL-O ghosts, witches, black cats, pumpkins and bats?

However, the items that made my mouth water the most had to be the PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese (coupon) and the all of the JET-PUFFED varieties of marshmallows. As the weather continues to cool down, we can't wait to add these GhostMALLOWS to hot chocolate for the kids and the PumpkinSpiceMALLOWS to hot apple cider, pumpkin pie and more... and is there anything that isn't made better with cream cheese?

It was time to whip up a few tasty recipes that would be absolutely perfect for a gathering, bringing a treat to friends, or simply to satisfy your sweet tooth. Let's get baking, it's time to party Halloween-style!

Halloween party

Halloween Scream Cheese Brownies
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 30 minutes
Yields: 24 brownies

Ingredients

1 brownie mix/homemade brownie recipe
8 oz PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
5 tbsp butter, softened
½ cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp flour
orange food coloring (or red + yellow)

baking ingredients

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350° and spray a 9x13" pan with cooking spray.

Follow the directions to prepare your brownie mix and spread ½ of the mixture in the pan.

Blend cream cheese, butter, and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla, and flour and mix well. Add orange food coloring to desired color, blending thoroughly.

Spread cream cheese mixture on top of brownie mix in pan. Add remaining brownie batter on top and pull a knife through to swirl.

brownie batter

Bake for 30 minutes and let cool before cutting and serving.

Haunted S'mores Cups
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 15 minutes
Yields: 24 cupcake-size cups

Ingredients

1 pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) sugar cookie mix
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 cup butter or margarine, melted
3 cups milk chocolate chips (18 oz)
JET-PUFFED GhostMALLOWS

baked s'mores
I included slightly less milk chocolate chips and added in BAKER'S White Chocolate for a yummy twist!

Directions

Heat oven to 375°F and prepare 24 baking cups with liners*.

In a large bowl, stir together cookie mix and graham cracker crumbs. Add in melted butter and mix until soft dough forms.

Bake approximately 15 minutes or until set. Immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over crust and let stand for a few minutes until the chocolate begins to melt.

s'mores cupcakes

Set oven to broil. Place GhostMALLOWS over melted chocolate and broil 20 to 30 seconds or until marshmallows are toasted and are beginning to brown. Cool 10 minutes.

*If you would prefer to make bars, press the dough into an ungreased 13x9" pan and bake for 18-20 minutes. Let cool before cutting.
