As the temperatures have dropped and winter is rapidly approaching, cold climate parents everywhere are preparing for the battles that are going to ensue when it comes to layering for going outside.
What is it about kids that they typically pull off any hat that even threatens to come in contact with their head? It's as if it is just built in to babies and are hats just that uncool that toddler and preschool-aged kids would rather be cold?
Fortunately there will surely be far fewer arguments that kids should indeed wear their hats outside this year thanks to the innovative and extremely fun new hats on the market, Flipeez.
The newest (and most unique) line of children's hats that I've seen in a long time, Flipeez are the fun, fanciful, animal action-hats that are not only warm and comfortable, they actually incorporate the ability to move. When was the last time you saw a dog hat that raised its ears or an owl hat that flapped its wings?
These whimsical and unusual hats are from the makers of Stompeez, the 2012 pop-when-you-walk slipper sensation that sold 4 million units in 6 months (and were such a hit around here from our Stompeez review that we had to go out and buy a second pair so that each of the girls had them).
Considering how well-received Stompeez were and how much fun Flipeez have looked in their As Seen On TV ads, I was looking forward to seeing this functional fashion accessory in person.
Available in a variety of precocious and colorful styles – Twitchy Kitty, Peek-a-Boo Monster, Huggy Monkey, Playful Puppy, Curious Owl, Ranger Raccoon and Rascally Rabbit – I was happy to see that Little Sister B was already enthralled with Twitchy Kitty's cuteness even before she saw this hat's special talent.
Because, after all, let's not forget that cuteness is a quite important feature itself!
The knit outer layer of this hat is durable and stretchy, allowing one-size-fits-all flexibility, while the plush inner fleece lining is soft and warm. Right away I loved the side flaps that cover Little Sister B's ears and the way that Flipeez do an overall great job of keeping little heads warm all over.
But let's not forget what these hats are truly known for, as each one has each has its own distinct "action" – arms open or tails wag with a simple squeeze of the puff-ball in the tassel.
Is there any way for Little Sister B to not bring smiles to the faces of everyone who sees her wearing this adorable hat when, with one squeeze, the tail quickly wags up and down like this?
While I do think that one of the other Flipeez animal character hats that allows others to always see the action from the front might be a tiny bit more fun, Twitchy Kitty has managed to bring a whole lot of giggles and grins since its arrival.
Not to mention that instead of constant reminders to put on a hat in the colder weather, Little Sister B instead wants to wear hers indoors as well as out!
Retailing for $19.95 + shipping and handling, you can view and order the full line of Flipeez by visiting Flipeez.com.
Other than the hat that I was provided by Flipeez in order to facilitate my review, I was not compensated or enticed to do this review in any way. This post is solely my honest opinion about this product.
