There is something about the wonder and curiosity of children that comes through in the twinkle in their eyes and can be a bit mesmerizing. The excitement over the picture that they've found in a book or the bug they see crawling on the window — how can I not want to encourage that inquisitiveness and innocence?
Therefore, for me, it has always been important to provide my children with toys that ignite that imagination and intellect, while also slipping a little educational value in there as well. Why not inspire learning as well as play?
Right now, one site that easily makes that possible is the wide selection at CP Toys by Constructive Playthings.
Constructive Playthings began in the 1950's to fill a need for quality educational resources for educators. However, after parents made it known that there was a larger need for quality supplies and materials — even for those that don't teach in the early childhood field — CP Toys was born in 2011.
As so many of the toys offered enhance kids' learning through sensory details, active play, and imagination enhancing, the most difficult thing about visiting CP Toys is knowing where to begin. Search by category, price or age and you'll find page after page of results that are beautiful, natural and set to inspire creativity.
Although I wasn't sure I would ever be able to narrow down the selection, once the Electronic Medical Cart with Scrubs arrived, I knew that it was clearly going to be a hit with my kids.
Providing everything your child needs to be ready to take care of boo-boos big and small, this medical cart and scrubs is as close to a real replica (in miniature) as I've ever seen. From the rolling cart to the hanging IV bottle to the thermometer, stethoscope and syringe, there's not much missing other than an injured patient.
Right out of the box and it was easy to see why this CP Toys exclusive is a favorite for children ages 3 and up.
The colorful and extensive collection of pieces! The adorable little scrubs (made to fit most children 3-6 years old)! The easy-rolling wheels that allow this cart to go just about anywhere!
Although I was initially concerned that there were no assembly instructions included, I soon realized that a good look at the image on the box answered most of my questions... followed by noticing that the box itself did actually include a handy diagram.
In a few short minutes, I had the cart fully assembled (it measures 19" long x 13" wide x 23" tall), the 2 AA batteries (not included) installed in the electronic pulse monitor, all of the tools in place, and we were ready to go.
Whether from afar or up close to examine the details, CP Toys truly went above and beyond in making sure to include every last item so that kids could have fun while pretending to be a real doctor or nurse!
Both girls' eyes lit up the instant that they saw the Electronic Medical Cart and Little Sister B was quick to change immediately into the scrubs.
Is there a doctor in the house?
Ever since this toy arrived, both girls have had a great time returning to it time and time again to fix ouchies, give checkups, or simply remain vigilantly on-call in case of an emergency.
After all, you just never know when you might need to take your baby's blood pressure, give her an IV, take her temperature and check her throat when all she complained about was a splinter, right?
Watching my daughters' creativity come into play has shown me just how much fun kids can have with colorful, high quality, pretend-realistic toys like these and I appreciate that CP Toys has something for every age, personality and ability that is sure to be a big hit.
This Electronic Medical Cart with Scrubs retails for $79.99 (the cart is available without scrubs as well for $54.99) and is a great example of the selection of toys that CP Toys has to offer that incorporate entertainment with learning.
This holiday season, be sure to check out their huge array of items at CPToys.com (and connect with them on Facebook so that you'll never miss a deal!) that will encourage children to role play, think critically or just explore imaginative possibilities.
Their toys and accessories will be more than just a gift under the tree, they'll have the ability to help build social skills or individuality while enhancing a young child's ingenuity and understanding of the world!
But, wait! How about a discount? Enter the coupon code TMC15 until November 29, 2013 and you'll receive 15% off of your purchase (excluding sale priced items, Thomas & Friends, Playmobil, Lego and Melissa & Doug)!
Plus, thanks to their generosity, one person will be able to shop for toys, games, gear or more for the child in their life, because...
One lucky person will win a $50 gift certificate* to CP Toys!
*Gift code cannot be used towards shipping costs.
A big thank you to CP Toys for providing an Electronic Medical Cart with Scrubs for me to review as well as a gift card for one lucky giveaway winner. The opinions shared are my own and honest and if you really need to see more, click here to see how I roll.
