There are a number of reasons that at least 50% of the clothes hanging in my closet don't ever get taken off of their hangers or brought out of their drawers.
Who am I kidding? It's more like 75%.
I'm not the only one who, upon browsing through my own clothes, has a feeling similar to when I look back at pictures from the 80's and 90's, right? What was I thinking?
At least I can rest assured that I'm (mostly) learning from my mistakes and that I've gotten better and better at picking out classic, stylish-yet-practical, comfortable pieces when I walk into a store or shop online these days. Why buy something that only matches a current trend but will clearly not end up falling into the must-have vintage clothing category down the road?
Which is why I love the wide variety of designs, colors and options available from Shabby Apple.
From classic black dresses to sassy and flirty styles to a sophisticated look to refine your wardrobe, ShabbyApple.com makes getting fashionably dressed simple. Instead of requiring layers underneath or on top of your dress to complete the look or make you feel more comfortable and covered, the only thing you have to add to a Shabby Dress is a pair of shoes... and accessories, if that's your thing.
For me, being the lay-around-in-my-pajamas-for-half-the-day type of person that I am, I'm not used to putting on a dress, looking in the mirror and just feeling good. If it's not yoga pants, it's mostly not in my wardrobe.
But then I had the chance to wear the At Last dress from Shabby Apple and couldn't help but smile.
What a great dress! The polyester/spandex combination results in a soft, smooth fabric that drapes just right and the A-line styling is flattering with the way that the skirt begins below the natural waist.
The bodice is simple and smooth with two crisp darts on the front and back and the short, cap sleeves are a nice complement to the pleated skirt.
But as well as the great fit, I find that it's the versatility that gives the At Last dress a special touch. The dress has just the right mix of simplicity in the design and shine in the fabric that it can be dressed up or down with a few simple changes.
Add heels and some bling and I'm ready to attend a wedding or, use a sash/belt and some flats and I'm not too overdressed for a casual afternoon lunch. Perfection!
With so many different styles of dresses available — including maxi, maternity, cocktail and more — that can be worn for a variety of occasions (the At Last is actually categorized as a Vintage Bridesmaids Dress!), Shabby Apple is sure to have multiple items that you'll love. You can even complete your look with their fashionable accessories, dress your preteen or child in something adorable, or pick up one of their chic tops or bottoms to help complete your wardrobe.
Although prices at Shabby Apple are on the higher end (the At Last dress retails for $84), they aren't really more than what you would find in department stores or boutique shops. If you're looking for a deal, however, there are always some great finds in their Sale section that will have you looking great for less!
For stylish clothing you'll feel comfortable wearing, Shabby Apple has a dress (probably quite a few, actually) that you'll love. Head over to ShabbyApple.com to attempt to pick your favorite today and be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram for their most up-to-date news, styles and more.
Other than the At Last dress that I was provided by Shabby Apple in order to facilitate my review, I was not compensated or enticed to do this post in any way. This review is solely my honest opinion of this site and this product.
