Coming Soon to a Theater Near You: The Nut Job {Movie/App Prize Pack Giveaway - 2 winners!}

The Nut Job logo
While there are movies released every week, the majority of them end up making it in and out of the theaters with hardly a blip on our radar. It's not that there's anything wrong with them, of course, it's just that we're pretty firmly in the stage of life where, unless a film is made for the entire family to enjoy, it's not going to be one that we see.

Fortunately, there are movies that manage to combine humor, action and adventure all into one child-friendly-but-still-fun-for-adults tale... which explains why all four of us are excited about the upcoming animated comedy The Nut Job and it's nationwide debut on January 17th!

The Nut Job movie

Bursting onto the scene this Friday, The Nut Job is an action-packed comedy in fictional Oakton that follows the travails of Surly, a mischievous squirrel, and his rat friend Buddy.

In an effort to stock up on delicious food, the two work together to plan a nut store heist of outrageous proportions... and unwittingly find themselves embroiled in a much more complicated and hilarious adventure!

The Nut Job

With a zany, fun story that children will enjoy and starring a collection of all-star voices that parents will appreciate (Liam Neeson, Katherine Heigl, Will Arnett, Brendan Fraser, Stephen Lang, Sarah Gadon, and Jeff Dunham), this is one comedy that will leave the entire family giggling.

But, wait! There's even more fun surrounding this movie! Your kids can start having a good time with The Nut Job even before the release thanks to the launch of the movie's official mobile app.

This family-friendly app features an interactive story based on The Nut Job, and includes fun games and activities for kids to get familiar with the characters from the movie. They can experience a deluxe storybook, collect nuts in Whack-a-Rat, protect nuts from falling into the gutter in Squirrel Bounce, sling nuts into pipes in Acorn Scramble, match nuts to fill Buddy's belly in Gone Nuts and more.

For only 99¢ (from iTunes or Google Play), this is a fun app to bring home the entertainment of The Nut Job even before Friday's release!

The Nut Job app

Be sure to mark your calendar for this Friday, January 17th for the release of The Nut Job and find out more about this hilarious movie on Facebook and Twitter and across social media by using #TheNutJob.

And, thanks to the generosity of its creator, Open Road Films, two people will be even more prepared for zany squirrel-led fun, because...

(2) lucky people will win The Nut Job prize packs*!
