I have two kids, which means I have two independent mess-makers in my house each and every day.

I know I can't be the only parent that, at the end of a meal, looks at the remnants and crumbs scattered absolutely everywhere and wonders if more ended up in their mouths or on the floor. If I had a nickel for every time I asked Big Sister E how it is physically possible for her to get so much food on the floor and still end up full at the end of the meal...

For me, I mainly wanted to know if the Eureka AirSpeed ALL FLOORS could really perform as well as they claimed. Based on independent testing, this vacuum cleans carpets better than the Dyson DC41, so I was ready to put it to my own test!

Pulling out the pieces, I was pleased to find that they felt like solid, high quality parts that, even though they are plastic, aren't the slightest bit flimsy or thin. Considering I knew this would have to withstand some bumps and a drop or two, I was glad to see that the AirSpeed ALL FLOORS appeared plenty ready to take what I (and my kids) could dish out.

While Eureka had already accomplished quite the feat by making me actually excited about cleaning, I moved on to any assembly needed and found that the process was minimal. In only a minute or two, I had all of the pieces snapped together and was ready to examine all that was included.

Everywhere I looked, it was clear to see that Eureka had thought out each and every detail. Depending on the location and surface of your next cleaning, you simply attach or detach any of the helpful accessories that are stored right on the vacuum itself.

Have dirty stairs? The Turbo Nozzle is perfect for zipping right up and around them. Trying to get down into tight gaps or narrow spaces? The Extension Wand and Crevice Tool gives you plenty of extended reach for tight (or hard-to-reach) areas. Cleaning away dust? Just pop on the Combination Brush and it's history!

At the same time, telling the AirSpeed ALL FLOORS whether you are cleaning the floor or using the tools is done with the simple twist of the large dial (the air path selector knob) right on the side.

Switching from one to the other takes only seconds and this suction control lets you direct all of the power to the floors or to the tools, so you can deep clean to stairs, furniture and crevices.

Engineered to clean a multitude of surfaces in your home, the Eureka AirSpeed ALL FLOORS features a brushroll that can be turned on to deep clean carpets, and off to safely remove dirt and debris from bare floors.

Now I can go from the hardwood in my living room right onto the carpet in our guest bedroom, back to the hardwood in the hallway and onto the rug in the play room!

As well as the ease of use, the AirSpeed Technology in this vacuum uses an efficient floor-to-cup air path with limited twists and turns that decreases the distance dust needs to travel and increases airflow, providing maximum suction power.

You simply move around your house (the Smooth-Glide pivoting base makes it very easy to push across carpets) and every last bit of dirt, dust and debris ends up trapped right inside. Then, as Eureka knows that no one wants to have to fuss with disposal, they included a bagless, clear dust cup canister that quickly releases and pops open for emptying.

Even better, right inside the canister there is a washable dust cup filter that reduces maintenance costs because it is washable and reusable, requiring less frequent replacement!

All in all, the Eureka AirSpeed ALL FLOORS provides the durability, quality and performance that I have been looking for when it comes to keeping my often-messy life under control. I have quite simply been amazed (and grossed out) at how much dust and dirt this vacuum pulls up when I have gone over areas that appeared to have already been clean.
